The new MG ZS EV Long Range has been launched recently, and to showcase it's capabilities, we took it on a road trip:

Not only was the trip informative and a good way to really get to grips with owning an EV entails, it was fun too!
When first launched back in 2019, I was impressed with how easy it was to drive, and what you got for the money. In fact, it was the calmest drive I've ever had around London - it really was amazing!
Now, even though it was fantastic value for money, there were some niggles that customers raised, and SAIC have addressed them for this new long range version.
They have uprated the headlights, improved the charging port, and uprated the infotainment system. It also comes connected to the iSmart App!
Previously only available outside of the U.K. and Europe, this App gives you a remote control for your car. With it, you can bind your phone to the car, and do things like:
Remote lock your car
Turn the demister on
Turn the heaters on
Schedule charging
And more...
You can also see what your charge is when you are not in the car, meaning that you can take a break and refresh yourself, and whilst doing so, check that not only is the charge still going up, you can see what level the charge is at, meaning you can work out how much time it will need.
The remote control also has a scan feature that checks all sorts!
A quick and easy application gives you real time status updates on these features:
So we decided that this new App needed to be tested out, and what better way than when the car was really cold from the snow that Storm Barra brought? I've never seen snow here in November before...
Amazingly, this app is intuitive, fast and packed with great features that really show the capability of a fully electric vehicle. To know that you can turn the demister on and clear the windscreen so that the car is safe and ready to drive is a win-win!
