In the final installment from this show, we're going to reveal a handful of spectacular American 1950s automobiles which were on display. You can see the other parts - GT-R here, part 2 JDM here, and part 3, 'EURO' here.
There were almost 200 cars on show, as such it was only logical to group them into categories. There's certainly more cars and shots not yet included so likely ya'll gonna be getting a bonus dose of crazy customized Thai rides to round everything out! It was a slightly overcast yet warm and virtually rain free day. This made some of the shot lighting tricky as it gave a slightly grey cast to everything! However, on with the show as this is what I managed to capture of some amazing 1950s Americana which had been extensively restored and modified with the latest in airbrush design, wheels, suspension components and more. Truly there is likely a book worth of detail the owners could go into on these machines. Perhaps one day we'll get to find our way inside one of the workshops around the region who are performing these restorations. The most important message to spread the word on here, is Thailand really does produce some of the most spectacular creations and restomods you could wish for.
Galaxie 500 Custom
Above: Ford 'Galaxie 500' with the Terminal21 shopping mall which hosted the event behind.
A low down look at the the long (very long) lines of the Galaxy 500. Trivia: There's also an indie band from the 1990s called 'Galaxie 500' who named themselves after the car. I hold the following album in high regard from my teenage years!
This band even named themselves after the car.
Close up of the exquisite badging of this Ford Galaxie 500. This was a flagship luxury product for Ford USA back in the 1950s. This car is also, huge!
Galaxie 500 - Interior
The roof featuring more airbrush art. 'Silver Bullet' is the name of the build ...
Some more of the Galaxie before we move on ...

Buick Century Custom
Distinctive Buick Victory grill with V sign bonnet emblem and toothy grill. What a grill. Fabulous chrome everywhere. The owner has been kind enough to get a number plate which tells us the year, 1955. This car is approaching 70 and still turning heads wherever he goes ...
Rear of the Buick Century. Words don't impart how glossy and deep the paint job was here. Plus the acres of chromework, all gleaming.
Almost art deco style badging on the rear flanks of the Century.
Exquisite hand-painted artwork on the hood of the Century. This continues throughout the car and all across the interior dashboard.
Trying to catch the light variations in the hazy afternoon sun. Not sure what you would call this very unique color, it seems to be many hues at once from bronze, gold, to sunset oranges and browns.
Just stunning.
Then you look even closer, at the roof pattern. Must have somehow been very skillfully done with stencils and airbrushing, then sealed with lots and lots of layers of glossy clearcoat. The process would have taken many many hours. The results speaks for itself!
Side detail of the port-holes, a stylistic feature of old Buicks with an interesting backstory.
Buick Century - Interior. Note the machine turned bronze dashboard and more hand-painted detailing along the top. Remote control for raising and lowering the air suspension lays on the big wide bench seat up front.
Buick Century - Rear end.
Thanks for Reading!
