I know I’m not the only cat lover in this world. There various types of cats that attract human to bestow their love on them. I often watch on Youtube how cat lovers treat their cats, befriend them, and regard them as a very praised animal. Most cats that I see treated that way are those with beautiful, alluring fur, big body, and of course, cost quite expensive. We may say that those who keep such cats are the true cat lovers or truer than the other ones. However, I’m not well-exposed to the large variety of expensive cats and ways to treat them. What only care is the ‘common found’ cats around my rented house. Cute, although wild, cats always allure me to approach them expecting they would be tame for me for a while. Lately, I found a very cute in a coffee shop in Banda Aceh yet it has three legs; this is the story I would tell you.
Aceh is known by domestic and international visitors as the paradise of coffee. The province’s capital is a strategic place to spot numerous coffeeshops with typical coffee taste. Of the coffeeshops, I frequently drop by Keude Kupi Aceh(KKA) coffee shop, situated in behind a luxurious hotel called Hermes. The coffeeshop initially fascinates me with the Acehnese ethnic display of its wooden construction. The look of it is just like an Acehnese traditional house which has been rarely found around at the moment. Besides, I often come to KKA for I have to voluntarily teach Arabic to satisfy the request of some friends, and I have to attend Spanish free discussion forum twice a week. Beyond this are other interesting classes such as Japanese and Korean. In the coffee shop, I always notice a female cat which likes to scratch its body to the costumers’ feet under the table. She is meowing as if she wants to tell her hunger. Sometimes I give her a few pieces of the bread or rice that I am eating.
At first, I was not aware that the female cat has three legs, but noticing her crawling while jumping made me try to check her out. When I checked her front right leg, it was chopped hence the abnormal way of her crawling. The cat can well befriend with every customer in the coffee shop that would always react and approach when called upon. People often call her by clicking their fingers or making a certain voice. She usually approaches the persons who are eating and purrs beside them implying her wanting some of the food. Every time I come to KKA, I call her to gently stroke her body and feed her if possible. Occasionally, she would jump on a vacant seat next to me and dozes on it. Scarcely did I saw her unenergised, instead, she is always avid and eager to everyone. Needless to say, she is merely an animal, yet animal can also exemplify ways to be patient, stoic creature.
Some said that the cat was attacked by a monitor lizard when she was a kitten. The lizard’s beat cut one of her legs. However, the accident stopped nothing of her life endeavors. In reality, we normally see people complaining of imperfection they possess and making it an excuse to give the life up. Why do we always pursue perfection where it belongs solely to Allah. The three-legged cat has successfully taught us to be strong and enthusiastic despite weaknesses we possess and vulnerabilities. As long as life is still granted to us, it is worth our finest power to preserve until the end of the time.
