Locally many people ornament their homes this time of year with harvest motif. This home in particular I noticed and photographed for you to see.
The pumpkin has a special place in our area, and there is a festival at a nearby city devoted to the pumpkin. The Nekoosa GIANT Pumpkin Festival draws large crowds at the annual event.

GIANT Pumpkin Drop Event
The Giant Pumpkin Drop is the main event for the Nekoosa GIANT Pumpkin Fest. Young and old alike come to witness a gigantic pumpkin ascend to the top of a 100-foot crane. As the countdown begins, anticipation builds for the release of this behemoth fruit.
As the volunteers pull on the rope to release the pumpkin, the crowd cheers in anticipation of things to come. As soon as the pumpkin comes crashing to earth, the ground shakes and hoards of kids rush to the pumpkin in hopes of gathering precious Giant Pumpkin seeds. Maybe next seasons winner will come from the seeds collected today!!
