Pilates Today
If you didn't see yesterday's post, I set myself - and you if you want to join in- a 30-day exercise challenge. Here is the why and such. Check it out. :) https://steemit.com/challenge/@mariannewest/30-day-daily-exercise-challenge-day-1
My sweet daughter in law is a Pilates instructor among other things. She also is a dancer, a massage therapist, has a bachelor degree in nutrition and exercise sciences, does structural integration and is a great mom.
A few weeks ago, the owner of the studio she takes classes from offered to sell a never used reformer to her. If you are like me and don't speak the language called Pilates - a reformer is a machine or maybe better an equipment you use to exercise on.
You could also call it a torture machine.
The machine was brand new and a good deal for her. So, she jumped on the opportunity to purchase it.
My sweet daughter in law is one of those people who
like their work - a lot!
are very diligent and concerned about the people they work with (or on).
love to exercise and will use the exercise equipment they buy.
I know, I know. It is hard to believe that people actually use those darn machines longer than a month or so. But there are a few rare specimen in this world who do.
I don' think I told you that yet, but I am a Yoga teacher and used to teach 12 classes a week. For those of you who do not know what to think about that - 12 hours of Yoga teaching is a lot!! Most people feel that 3 or 4 hours a week is quite a bit.
I was in really good shape since some of those classes were Kids Yoga. Boy, those little dudes and dudettes know how to burn you out!!
Then a whole lot of life happened I will tell you about in some other posts. To top it off, I injured my knee and could barely walk.
That led to me being in not so great shape :(
Enter the before mentioned torture machine. I offered my daughter a deal she couldn't refuse: Train me two times a week and I will babysit twice a month for a chance for her and my son to go out.
Usually, I take my blankets and pillow, go to their house in the afternoon and spend the night. That way, they don't have to rush home, and/or I don't have to drive home in the middle of the night.
Okay, okay. Enough already. Where are the pictures? Did you work out or not, you ask.
I did! And my legs were screaming!!!
This was called warm up :)
And fully trapped in the torture machine
Oh yes. And did I mention that my legs were burning???!!!
These pictures were taken today, September 21, 2017.
What did you do today to move your body?
