A Snoopy Gingerbread House
Every year I put together a gingerbread house. Usually they are the easy put-together, pre-made kind that you buy in a box at a grocery store. In my teenage years I worked at a bakery and we would make REAL gingerbread houses each Christmas season, but at home I take the easy route. Perhaps someday I will get extravagant, but for now I got a Peanuts/Snoopy Version as seen below:
The Walls
This was one of the easiest gingerbread houses I've ever made. It came with a stand that worked as a foundation to support the walls. I had the walls up in no time.
The Roof
The roof came with a little chimney. I had to hold these pieces together for a little while for the icing to harden. Now it's ready to begin the decorating process!
Lack of Greens
The package came with only 3 green gummy candy pieces. I was not too happy about it, but I had to make do with what I had (I swear I didn't eat them).
Preliminary Decor
The windows were a major pain in the ass. Definitely the most difficult part of the entire gingerbread house. I finally got them to a position I was satisfied with. I'm not the best gingerbread house decorator... but at least I try!
The Results
I added the Snoopy gummy and a little Christmas tree decoration that I had laying around the house. Unfortunately I ran out of icing and was not able to make a fancy design on the roof. I had to settle with a layer of powdered sugar to give it a snow effect.
