Today is Tuesday!!! Again!!!
Thank goodness we get to experience another Tuesday--the perfect opportunity to share orange!
So today I thought I'd share an orange!
Look how cool this little lamp is that I made from an orange!
Orange, lemons, limes and grapefruits all make really sweet, sustainable lamps--no manufacturing, no molds, no packaging, and you probably already have one available in your kitchen, no extra cost! This is a super easy. simple, sustainable lighting option, especially in a lights out or emergency situation.
Just cut in half, then remove the fruit from the rind, leaving the little pithy stem that runs down through the center where all the sections meet. That pithy stem (for the lack of anything better to call it) will become the wick.
Simply pour some sort of vegetable oil into the rind, light the pithy wick and whallah---
you have a lamp!!
I'm grateful to play the colorchallenge with and all the other Steemians sharing orange today.
