Three-Ingredient Dish
This week we did a creamy smooth Vegan Chocolate Mousse using just three simple but extremely healthy ingredients:
- Avocados
- Cacao Powder
- Maple Syrup
This recipe is super easy to make and is actually a very healthy dessert. Its loaded with healthy fats from the Avocados which also contain nearly 20 vitamins, minerals, and phytonutrients. Just one serving of this superfood offers eight percent of the daily value of fiber. The Cacao offers us 40 times the antioxidants of blueberries. It's the highest plant-based source of iron and is full of Magnesium which is great for the heart and brain. It also contains more calcium than cow's milk which acts as a natural mood elevator and anti-depressant. The health benefits of Maple Syrup include a healthy heart and a healthier immune system. It also has antioxidant properties that protect our body from free radicals.
None of that really matters as this dessert is what my wife likes to call "The Bomb Dot Com"
Tip For Parents
The best part of this dessert, is because it's filled with good fats, your kids will not eat too much. It's a great way to help little ones from overeating...when you add nutrient dense foods paired with good quality fats you and your kids will actually eat less food! How To Make It
Blend four ripen avocados and 3/4 cup of cacao powder. While blending add maple syrup about 8-10 tablespoons (sweeten to taste ) and coconut oil 1/4 cup. Add a pinch of salt for taste and blend until you see a creamy consistency. Vuala you're done!
