He has exhausted all of his personal resources and gone into debt.
London, June 24 - A former Labour Party leader whose practices include laying flowers at the graves of murderous terrorists filed for personal economic protection from debt collection today because he had to spend all of his money, and borrow beyond his means, to pay for condolence bouquets for the families and surviving colleagues of all the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps commanders that Israel has taken out over the last week and a half.
MP Jeremy Corbyn (Islington North) filed for bankruptcy protection this morning, aides disclosed, now that he has exhausted all of his personal resources and gone into debt to send wreaths to the relatives of Iranian generals whom Israeli strikes killed since Operation Rising Lion began the week before last.
"Mr. Corbyn has long considered the leaders of Iran and their allies in the region his friends," the aide explained, speaking on condition of anonymity. "That part is well known. And he has personally laid a wreath at the graves of Salah Khalaf and Atef Bseiso, of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, over in Tunisia. It's only natural this impulse to give tribute to anyone who died because they tried to kill Jews would extend to Iran's generals and nuclear scientists. Unfortunately for him, that's now driven him to financial collapse."
The aide added that confidants expected Mr. Corbyn's bankruptcy sooner - but the various Hamas and other Islamist leaders Israel eliminated in the Gaza Strip do not have accessible graves at which to lay wreaths, given the ongoing war there and its complex combat environment. He did, however, manage to send flowers to numerous Hezbollah families, and to compose no fewer than fifteen indignant tweets, though it remains unclear whether he wrote them himself of had a staffer do it.
Insiders further disclosed that the ousted Labour chief - who shepherded his party to an embarrassing defeat in 2019, its worst defeat since 1935, winning only 203 seats with 32% of the vote - did not stumble blindly into bankruptcy: his accountant warned him that the profligacy with wreaths could lead only to financial ruin, but Corbyn refused to compromise, dismissing his Jewish accountant and accusing him of a Zionist plot to demoralize progressives. The accountant's replacement knew better, for his own job security, than to give the lawmaker an honest picture of the latter's financial situation, until he faced no choice but to file for bankruptcy protection, and blame "Zionists" for it.
