Thankfully, I can now walk better without knocking everything over, and my left arm trembles less, so lately I've been busy working, taking jobs off the street. the money is good, but I haven't had much time to post. This time, I'll share the repair I did on the electronic control panel of a Haier washing machine, which wasn't working or showing any signs of life.

* * * These washing machine electronic boards are mounted in pairs. On the top is the board with the indicator LEDs and control buttons, and on the bottom is the power supply board.

* * * Both boards are held together with plastic tabs, making them easy to separate. To protect the electronic boards from moisture damage inside the washing machine, both are covered with a thick layer of silicone, which also makes accessing the components for servicing difficult.

* * * The bottom of the cards is also covered by the silicone layer and is attached to the plastic covers that serve as a support base.

* * * We have to cut through the plastic cover to access the components, being careful not to damage the circuit board. I use a blade and try to be careful, only cutting the plastic without penetrating the board. Some prefer to use a soldering iron with a blade and cut through the plastic of the cover.

* * * I'm not going to remove all the silicone protecting the circuit board; I only work on very specific areas. The triacs are the most commonly damaged components, so they're usually the first thing I check.

* * * The triacs were in good condition, so I separated the power supply electronic board from the control electronic board to check if all operating voltages were present.

* * * I applied 110 volts AC power to the circuit board's input and checked the DC voltages located after the transformer. The 5-volt points were present and the 12-volt point was fine; the power supply board was functioning perfectly.

* * * The fault preventing operation is therefore on the control board.

* * * The next components to check were the power button, highlighted in purple, and the crystal (resonator) on the board, highlighted in the white box in the image.

* * * I cut the plastic cover to access the components I'm going to check.

* * * I tested the contacts of the push button (highlighted in the purple box); it was working without issue. I tested the crystal (highlighted in the white box), and it wasn't oscillating; it was damaged.

* * * I had a couple of resonators that I had recycled some time ago stored in the warehouse.

* * * I tested the board and it worked; the electronic board was indeed functioning.

* * * I used candle wax to fill and cover the holes in the silicone before sealing the board.

* * * I heated the wax with a lighter so it would evenly cover all the openings.

* * * To finish sealing the plastic covers, I used a hot glue gun.

En esta ocasión les compartiré la reparación que le hice al panel de control electrónico de una lavadora Haier, que no funcionaba ni daba señales de vida.

* * * Estas tarjetas electrónicas de las lavadoras, están montadas en pareja del lado superior esta la tarjeta con los leds indicadores y los botones de control, del lado inferior esta acoplada la tarjeta electrónica de la fuente de poder.

* * * Ambas tarjetas están acopladas a presión con unas pestañas plásticas, es fácil separarlas. Para proteger las tarjetas electrónica de daños por humedad de la lavadora, ambas están cubiertas por una gruesa capa de silicona lo que también hace difícil acceder a los componentes para hacer servicio.

* * * La parte inferior de las tarjetas también están cubiertas por la capa de silicona y están adheridas a las cubiertas de plástico que sirven de base de soporte.

* * * Tenemos que cortar la cubierta plástica para llegar al los componentes, teniendo cuidado de no dañar la tarjeta electrónica, yo uso una cuchilla y procuro tener cuidado, solo cortar el plástico sin penetrar hasta la tarjeta. Algunos prefieren usar un cautín con una cuchilla y cortan el plástico de la cubierta plástica.

* * * No voy a retirar toda la silicona que protege la tarjeta electrónica, solo intervengo en zonas muy puntuales, lo que mas suele dañarse son los triac por lo que es lo primero que suelo revisar.

* * * Los triac estaban en buen estado, por lo que separe la la tarjeta electrónica de la fuente de poder de la tarjeta electrónica de control, para verificar si estaban presente todos los voltajes de funcionamiento.

* * * Alimente con los 110 volts de corriente alterna en la entrada de voltaje de la tarjeta electrónica, verifique los voltajes de corriente directa que se encuentran después del transformador. Los puntos de 5 volts estaban presentes y el punto de 12 volts estaban bien, la tarjeta electrónica de fuente de poder funcionaba perfectamente.

* * * La falla que impide el funcionamiento esta entonces en la tarjeta electrónica de control.

* * * Los siguientes elementos para revisar eran el botón de encendido, resaltado en color lila y el cristal (resonador) de la tarjeta, resaltado en el cuadro de color blanco en la imagen.

* * * Corto la cubierta plástica para llegar a los componentes que voy a revisar.

* * * Medí los contactos del pulsador (resaltado en el cuadro lila), funcionaba sin novedad, medí el cristal (resaltado en el cuadro blanco) y no presentaba oscilación, estaba dañado.

* * * Tenia un par de resonadores que había reciclado hace un tiempo guardados en el deposito.

* * * Probé la tarjeta y ahora tenia un resultado positivo, ya la tarjeta electrónica si estaba funcionando.

* * * Uso la cera de una vela para rellenar y cubrir los agujeros en la silicona antes de cerrar la tarjeta.

* * * Caliento la cera con un encendedor para que cubra uniformemente todas las aberturas.

* * * Para terminar de cerrar las cubiertas plásticas uso la pistola de silicona caliente.
