**Greetings my dear #hive moviegoers!!** Today I bring you the review of a movie that I had on my list to see since it was announced in 2017 and finally released in 2019, but it took me about 4 years to finally see it 🙃. I don't know if it happens to anyone around here, but it happens to me that after so many waiting for a movie or a series, even the endings of the series at the end I lose interest in them, I really spend all the time wanting to see them, and when I finally can, I don't want to, sometimes unconsciously I make up a thousand excuses and others are very obvious even I don't understand it! But it happens to me 🙃. I remember passing in front of the poster of this movie many times in the cinema that was in a mall that I visited every day, because it was literally in front of the building where I lived, but something prevented me from going in to see it, I'm weird I know! The point is that 4 years later, finally! Pero me pasa 🙃. >Recuerdo haber pasado por el frente del poster de esta película muchas veces en el cine que quedaba en un centro comercial que visitaba todos los días, porque me quedaba literalmente en frente del edificio donde vivía, pero algo me impedía entrar a verla, soy rara ¡lo sé! I don't know how to express how I felt watching this movie after waiting so long for it maybe my expectations were too high after so long? I think it's just this factor that keeps me from watching movies after waiting so long for some of them, I feel it's to avoid being disappointed 😑. Some around here must know by now that I love Tarantino! and his way of making movies, that man is a true genius! and those who say otherwise I accept them, but I don't understand them. That's why I feel I'm going to be criticized in this review, since many must have loved this movie madly, but it wasn't my case, I don't know, I felt it had everything that makes Tarantino unique, but something was missing in that script, it's like I was waiting all the time for the climax of the film and when it came, I feel it wasn't enough for what I'm used to see from this man. But that doesn't mean that I didn't like the film, of course! What I like most about this man's films, besides the crazy stories he creates mixing real and fantasy facts, is his ability to recreate a whole scenery unique in its kind, although winking to many others created, but with elements characteristic only of him and focusing the most spectacular shots I've seen in the cinema. >No sé cómo expresar lo que sentí al ver esta película después de haber esperado tanto por ella ¿tal vez mis expectativas eran demasiado altas después de tanto tiempo? He knows how to direct the attention in the places he wants, maybe the shot doesn't seem to have great significance, you'll see a girl with her legs in focus and you'll say "what the heck" what's so important about that? Or taking a picture in front of a movie poster with a ridiculous pose and it seems meaningless, but each of those shots are so perfectly thought out, based mainly on his tastes, that it's impossible not to detail them, and if you detail them you'll get countless references to all the cinema in them. It's as if he's paying tribute to everything he saw as a kid in that video store where he grew up watching old movies. He doesn't care what anyone else likes, Tarantino does what he likes and in his style, like that Spaghetti Western he loves so much, and it doesn't matter how, but he's going to include that style in his films no matter what! because he wants to make it known. In an industry where we are used to consuming hundreds of films a year that only repeat patterns to be consumed by the masses, the fact that a film director stays true to his style from the beginning deserves nothing but applause and admiration. >Tarantino es capaz de recrear toda una época y en esta película la puedes ver en planos filmados desde el aire, no estamos hablando de poner un fondo detrás de una escena, es que el tipo te recrea la ambientación a ¡híper gran escala! y con lujo de miles de detalles únicos, para mi esa es una de las cosas que hacen maravilloso a este hombre. >Sabe dirigir la atención en los lugares que él quiere, tal vez la toma no parezca tener gran significancia, vas a ver una tipa donde le enfocan las piernas y vas a decir ¡qué rayos!, ¿Qué de importante tiene eso? O tomándose una foto frente a un póster de cine con una pose un poco ridícula y pareciera sin sentido, pero cada una de esas tomas están tan perfectamente pensadas, basadas en sus gustos principalmente, que es imposible no detallarlas, y si las detallas vas a conseguir innumerable cantidad de referencias a todo el cine en ellas. >Es como si él rindiera tributo a todo lo que él vio desde pequeño en esa tienda de video donde creció viendo películas antiguas. I don't know much about movies but I guess having good chemistry with the director is the fundamental basis to make a good film or not? That's what Tarantino does, and he probably gives a lot of artistic freedom to those he knows will do wonders, such is the case of those who take the center stage in this film which are **Leonardo DiCaprio** and **Brad Pitt**. We already know how comfortable both actors feel working in Tarantino's films and this film is no exception. There are several characters and several stories like seeing **Margot Robbie** doing a great performance in one of the parallel stories of the film or spectacular cameos like **Al Pacino** or **Dakota Fannig**, they are so incredible, that you are stunned with the scenes they represent, they are only a few minutes on screen, but the acting is such, that you are amazed, that happened to me especially with Dakota. This is also characteristic of Tarantino, develop several stories at the same time, but converge at some point and at first do not seem to have absolute relationship, until you realize that they were related forever and had not noticed. I love how this man achieves this, how the characters pass by each other and you wait for the moment when they finally run into each other, the worst thing is that some of them never run into each other, but their stories do. >Por otro lado, escoge a estos actores con los que pareciera que tuviera un fetiche; bueno, mejor dicho, no pareciera ¡lo tiene! y que son unos genios de la actuación por sí mismos, además los actores se sienten tan cómodos con él, que termina dando como resultado unas obras maestras de actuación de cada uno de los involucrados. >No sé mucho de cine pero ¿Me supongo que el tener buena química con el director es la base fundamental para hacer un buen film o no? Eso es lo que hace Tarantino, y probablemente les de mucha libertad artística a los que sabe que harán unas maravillas, tal es el caso de los que se llevan el centro de esta película que son **Leonardo DiCaprio** y **Brad Pitt**. >Ya sabemos lo cómodos que se sienten ambos actores trabajando en los films de Tarantino y este film no es la excepción. Hay varios personajes y varias historias como ver a **Margot Robbie** haciendo una gran interpretación en una de las historias paralelas del film o cameos espectaculares como el de **Al Pacino** o el de **Dakota Fannig**, son tan increíbles, que quedas estupefacto con las escenas que representan, son solo unos minutos en pantalla, pero la actuación es tal, que quedas maravillado, eso me pasó sobre todo con Dakota. >Esto también es característico de Tarantino, desarrollar varias historias al mismo tiempo, pero que convergen en algún punto y que al principio no parezcan tener absoluta relación, hasta que te das cuenta de que estuvieron relacionadas desde siempre y no lo habías notado. Rick was living his life from set to set without analyzing what was happening as time went by, until his agent makes him fall into that harsh and cruel reality that he hadn't realized. He offers him to go to Italy to sign a Spaghetti Western, but Rick refuses to accept it because it would be the end of his life in Hollywood. Rick then begins a hard fight with the fall of his self-esteem, to see things he did not see before, he feels frustrated, but he has by his side his best friend, the double he uses in each of his action scenes **Cliff Booth (Brad Pitt)** who is the one who keeps him afloat, accompanies him in each production, even when in many he does not act and serves basically as a personal assistant and emotional support. >En el caso de esta película la trama principal de esta historia gira en torno a un actor de Hollywood en la década de los 60 **Rick Dalton (Leonardo DiCaprio)** que se da un golpe con la realidad un día, cuando se da cuenta de que su carrera está llegando a su fin, de que lo buscan por los mismos papeles de ser el malo todo el tiempo, papel que la gente termina odiando obviamente y que finalmente es olvidado. >Rick vivía su vida de plató en plató sin analizar lo que sucedía con el pasar del tiempo, hasta que su agente le hace caer en esa realidad dura y cruel de la que no se había dado cuenta. This cross between Cliff and the Manson Family is going to be key to the whole film, and one of the main reasons Tarantino had for making this film was to tell a little of how he would have liked the story of Manson, his cult and his relationship with Hollywood cinema to unfold. One of those elements I love about Tarantino is that omniscient narrator that appears out of nowhere and seems to tell a comic book style story. In this case he tells the story of Rick doing some Spaghetti Western while showing the beautiful scenes with posters of the movies he filmed, showing that wonderful pop art that I always talk about because I love it too much! I will repeat it every time I see it in movies and Tarantino always! uses it. >Al final tenemos estas 3 historias, desarrolladas todas en la época de los años 60, vinculadas al cine de Hollywood e inspiradas en hechos reales, pero bastante modificados, en una maravilla de ambientación, con una banda sonora perfectamente seleccionada como siempre y haciendo uso de elementos narrativos característicos de Tarantino. >Uno de esos elementos que amo de Tarantino es ese narrador omnisciente que aparece de la nada y parece que contara una historia estilo cómic. But at the same time I end up sad and feeling that I don't know anything about cinema, because I wish I could appreciate all those details, which I know are hidden in every scene and every sentence, but sadly I can't see them because of my lack of knowledge of it. >Todo esto que les dije arriba con la cereza del pastel, muchísimos cameos de súper artistas de Hollywood; hay tantos, que pareciera una locura, algunos solo aparecen unos minutos, pero es que los actores desean tanto aparecer en una película de este hombre que los actores casi se pelean por esos minutos en pantalla. >El film está plagado de referencias de cine, lo cual es algo característico de Tarantino, pero en este film se supera, ya que la película trata justamente de cine y él aprovecha eso para mostrar lo que más ama de este arte, utiliza hasta el más mínimo elemento del guión para tocar temas referentes a otras películas de cine, actores, directores, que él admira, así como las que que él mismo hizo y dirigió. >Así como usa frases, elementos de ambientación, vestuario y personajes característicos del cine, no necesariamente de la década de los 60, pero ya sabemos cómo es él que mezcla todo cuando y como le da la gana 😅. Por ejemplo **Bruce Lee** quien aparece en un cameo en este film en sus inicios de cine, cuando en la realidad Bruce Lee empezó su carrera actoral mucho antes de esa década, o por lo menos es lo que creo, corríjanme los conocedores de cine. >Justamente el hecho de que usara tantas referencias de cine creo que fue lo que me dificultó apreciar tanto la historia del film, pero es por el desconocimiento que yo tengo sobre el mundo cinematográfico, es un pesar que siempre me acompaña cuando veo sus películas ¡las amo! Biografía que leí después de ver la película, tú no la veas porque te vas a spoilear todo, hazlo al final si lo necesitas como yo. I don't know, I don't decipher it 🙃 maybe more bloodthirsty scenes? (it's unbelievable that I say this because I hate horror and terror, but I like how Tarantino does it 😅) maybe that the knot wasn't climax enough? 🤔 maybe I expected more from that ending? I don't know 😑. I insist though! I do know that I didn't like the narration enough because of my lack of film knowledge, which is not Tarantino's fault, it's my fault if anything 😅😅. **Would I recommend it?** Of course! Great film connoisseurs should love this movie, and those who don't like me, will delight in so many elements to highlight and Tarantino's signature cinematography that is wonderful to admire! **Would I see it again?** If there's one thing I enjoy, it's watching Tarantino's films from time to time!
