Amigos de FullDeportes y del mundo entero me complace traerles esta publicación en la que confluyen dos de mis pasiones: el Ajedrez y el Speedcubing; esto a propósito de un fuerte torneo de ajedrez celebrado en los espacios de BRAVE Academia, Arequipa, Perú, donde coincidí con un profesional del SpeedCubing, y es donde veo una conexión especial entre estas dos disciplinas tal como se resalta en el título de esta publicación. Este torneo fue organizado por el amigo Francoise Mendoza, un gran difusor del ajedrez en el Perú.

Friends of FullDeportes and the whole world I am pleased to bring you this publication in which two of my passions converge: Chess and Speedcubing; this about a strong chess tournament held in the spaces of BRAVE Academy, Arequipa, Peru, where I coincided with a professional SpeedCubing, and where I see a special connection between these two disciplines as highlighted in the title of this publication. This tournament was organized by my friend Francoise Mendoza, a great disseminator of chess in Peru.

En este torneo interactuamos con Rodrigo Valencia, un joven con el que en anteriores ocasiones había jugado partidas, pero no sabía que es un Speedcuber profesional. Al ver su camiseta alusiva a esta disciplina no dudé en interactuar con él, quien hizo además espectaculares exhibiciones armando el cubo en un tiempo de menos de 12 segundos, acotando que trabajó con un cubo de gama baja, cuyo costo es de 4$, lo que demuestra la importancia de conocer más allá de la calidad del cubo. También se suma en esta vinculación entre el Ajedrez y el Speedcubing mi pupilo Gerald Cuno, ganador de muchos torneos en la categoría sub 6, y que recientemente aprendió armar el cubo de Rubik. Tanto Gerald como Rodrigo coinciden en que ambas disciplinas exigen un cálculo anticipado de las diversas situaciones.

In this tournament we interacted with Rodrigo Valencia, a young man with whom I had played games in previous occasions, but I did not know that he is a professional Speedcuber. When I saw his t-shirt alluding to this discipline I did not hesitate to interact with him, who also made spectacular exhibitions assembling the cube in a time of less than 12 seconds, noting that he worked with a low-end cube, whose cost is $ 4, which demonstrates the importance of knowing beyond the quality of the cube. My pupil Gerald Cuno, winner of many tournaments in the U6 category, and who recently learned to assemble the Rubik's cube, also joins in this link between Chess and Speedcubing. Both Gerald and Rodrigo agree that both disciplines require an anticipated calculation of the different situations.

Me encanta la difusión de estas dos disciplinas en cuanto al SpeedCubing lo difundo como deporte emergente, con la intención de que en el futuro sea aceptado como deporte en toda la extensión de la palabra. En ese proceso de difusión he conocido a dos personalidades de esta disciplina, uno de ellos el estadounidense Rami Sbahi, de los mejores del mundo en el cubo 3x3x3 y 2x2x2 y youtuber con más de 45 mil suscriptores. También conocí al multicampeón mundial de cubo de Rubik a ciegas, el peruano Gianfranco Huanqui, a continuación les comparto unas fotografías de estas interacciones con estos maestros del SpeedCubing:

I love the diffusion of these two disciplines, as for SpeedCubing I spread it as an emerging sport, with the intention that in the future it will be accepted as a sport in the full extent of the word. In this diffusion process I have met two personalities of this discipline, one of them the American Rami Sbahi, one of the best in the world in the 3x3x3 and 2x2x2x2 cube and youtuber with more than 45 thousand subscribers. I also met the multi world champion of blind Rubik's cube, the Peruvian Gianfranco Huanqui, then I share with you some pictures of these interactions with these masters of SpeedCubing:

Y esto motiva a cultivar esta hermosa disciplina, actualmente estoy mejorando el método F2L, para armar más rápido las dos primeras capas del cubo, por supuesto enalteciendo siempre la pasión de jugar ajedrez, retando en este torneo a uno de los jugadores más fuertes que hizo presencia en el torneo celebrado el pasado sábado en los espacios de BRAVE Academia, este atleta es el MF Flavio González, con quien además se sostuvo una amena interacción.

And this motivates me to cultivate this beautiful discipline, I am currently improving the F2L method, to assemble faster the first two layers of the cube, of course always extolling the passion of playing chess, challenging in this tournament one of the strongest players who made presence in the tournament held last Saturday in the spaces of BRAVE Academy, this athlete is the MF Flavio Gonzalez, with whom also held a pleasant interaction.

Un torneo de mucho nivel, ajedrecistas como Condori, Rodrigo Viveros, Naveros, Nino de Guzmán dijeron presente para dar lo mejor de sí en cada partida disputada, y brindarnos un derroche de talento ajedrecístico en toda la extensión de la palabra.

A tournament of high level, chess players like Condori, Rodrigo Viveros, Naveros, Nino de Guzman were present to give their best in every game played, and give us a waste of chess talent in the full extent of the word.

Y la presencia de estos jugadores permite que las nuevas generaciones de ajedrez arequipeño mejoren esta disciplina, desarrollando experiencia al enfrentarse con estos fuertes jugadores. ¡Qué viva el Ajedrez!

And the presence of these players allows the new generations of Arequipa chess to improve this discipline, developing experience by facing these strong players. Long live chess!
