* Recycled cardboard from a box. * Red, white and gold frosted foam. * Metallic gold cardstock. * Ruler, pen, scissors and hot glue. * Hole punch.

With the recycled cardboard I had available, I cut a strip of 45cm by 8cm. I had to glue it to complete this measurement, but if your recycled cardboard is wide enough to give you this full measurement, then you won't have to glue anything. I drew the triangle design on a sheet of paper to be satisfied with the measurement and so I would need 16 triangles to complete the design on the strip. The triangles would be 5cm at the base by 8cm high. I then cut 8 red triangles and 8 white triangles from the frosted foam.

Con el cartón reciclado que disponía, corté una tira de 45cms por 8cms, tuve que pegar para completar esta medida, pero si tu cartón reciclado tiene la amplitud para darte esta medida completa, pues no tendrás de pegar nada. Dibujé en una hoja el diseño de los triángulo, para quedar satisfecha con la medida y de esta forma iba a necesitar 16 triángulo para completar el diseño en la tira. Lo triángulos serían de 5cms en la base por 8cms de altura. Corté entonces 8 triángulos rojos y 8 triángulos blancos en el foami escarchado.

Now, using the hot glue gun, glue the 8 red triangles and the 8 white triangles onto the strip of cardboard that I cut earlier, alternating one with the base facing down and the next with the base facing up. This design is perfect and characteristic of Christmas drums. When finished, glue the tips and the design will match.

Ahora a pegar con la pistola de silicón caliente los 8 triángulos rojos y los 8 triángulos blancos, en la tira de cartón que corté anteriormente, intercalando uno con la base hacia abajo y el siguiente con la base para arriba. Este diseño es perfecto y característicos de los tambores de navidad. Al terminar pego las puntas y va a coincidir el diseño.

I prepare the covers on each side, cutting two circles in recycled cardboard measuring 14cm in diameter. I use the same measurement to cut out gold metallic cardboard, glue both pieces together and then glue them on each side of the drum as well.

Preparo las tapas de cada lado, corto dos círculo en cartón reciclado de 14cms de diámetro. Esa misma medida la uso para cortar en cartulina dorada metalizada, pego ambas piezas y posteriormente las pego también en cada lado del tambor.

I decorate with a 1.5cm ribbon around the lid. I cut a piece of jute cord and make a handle, this piece will help me place the drum on the Christmas tree branch in case I am going to place it there, I glue it before placing the strip and fix it well with hot silicone, that will be enough because this really does not weigh almost anything.

Decoro con un listón de 1,5cms alrededor de la tapa. Corto un trozo de cordón de yute y realizo una asa, esta pieza me ayudará a colocar el tambor en la rama del árbol de navidad en el caso que lo vaya a colocar ahí, lo pego antes de colocar la tira y fijo bien con silicón caliente, con eso será suficiente porque esto realmente no pesa casi nada.

To continue decorating and highlight the triangle design, I cut several small circles out of metallic gold cardstock with the leaf punch and glued them to the thinnest part of each triangle on the drum. I also cut a star out of red frosted foam and glued it to one of the sides of the drum. The star turned out beautiful.

Para continuar decorando y destacar más el diseño de triángulo, corté con el perforador de hojas, varios círculos pequeños de cartulina dorada metalizada, y lo pegué en la parte más delgada de cada triángulo en el tambor. También corté en foami escarchado rojo, una estrella y la pegué en uno de los lados del tambor, quedó bella esa estrella.

Today when I was making the post, I realized that I should have made the drumsticks, so I quickly made them with two Chinese food chopsticks, placed a piece of frosted foam on top and a strip of red frosted foam around it to give it more interest, gluing everything together with hot silicone.

Hoy cuando estaba haciendo el post, me di cuenta que debí realizar los palillos para el tambor, así que rápidamente los hice con dos palillos de comida china, coloqué un trozo de foami escarchado en el tope y una tira de foami escarchado rojo alrededor para darle más interés, pegando todo con silicón caliente.

The drum is ready, I also decided to make a smaller one following the same steps. I loved how they turned out, I already want to make several more to place randomly on my Christmas tree. They are extremely attractive, the white, red and gold colors are very characteristic of Christmas and they turned out beautiful.

Está listo el tambor, también me animé a realizar uno más pequeño siguiendo los mismos pasos. Me encantaron como quedaron, ya deseo realizar varios más para colocarlos aleatoriamente en mi árbol de navidad. Son sumamente vistosos, los colore blanco, rojo y dorado son muy característicos de la navidad y quedaron hermosos.
