Entrepreneurship in Venezuela can feel like climbing a mountain without seeing the top. Often, we focus only on the success stories and forget all the effort, the falls and the learning behind each achievement. Today I want to share my personal experience, a path full of challenges, but also of constant growth.

Seven years ago I made one of the most important decisions of my life: to leave my career to venture into a new niche, then little explored. It was a leap into the void that today, with a lot of hard work, is beginning to bear fruit. However, I must say that nothing has been by chance. Each small step has been the result of constant effort, learning and an internal struggle with something that many of us face: the imposter syndrome.

In a previous post I told you that I work as a community manager for several companies. Recently, just two months ago, I started a project with a client outside my city. Although the tools I had were limited, my client appreciated my commitment. So much so that he decided to cover the cost of a trip so that I could personally collect the necessary material in his restaurant.

Hace siete años tomé una de las decisiones más importantes de mi vida: dejar mi carrera para aventurarme en un nuevo nicho, en ese entonces poco explorado. Fue un salto al vacío que hoy, con mucho trabajo, comienza a dar sus frutos. Sin embargo, debo decir que nada ha sido casualidad. Cada pequeño paso ha sido el resultado de un esfuerzo constante, aprendizajes y una lucha interna con algo que muchos enfrentamos: el síndrome del impostor.

En un post anterior les conté que me desempeño como community manager para varias empresas. Recientemente, hace apenas dos meses, inicié un proyecto con un cliente fuera de mi ciudad. Aunque las herramientas con las que contaba eran limitadas, mi cliente valoró mi compromiso. Tanto fue así que decidió cubrir los gastos de un viaje para que pudiera recopilar personalmente el material necesario en su restaurante.

This moment marked a before and after in my career. For the first time, I felt that the effort of these seven years was beginning to take shape, to make sense. I had never before been paid for a trip for my work, and living this experience was really motivating.

The main objective of my visit was to photograph the most representative dishes of the restaurant for social media, but also to capture the essence of the place. The restaurant is located in a tourist spot, so I wanted to highlight details that would invite tourists to visit the area.

Este momento marcó un antes y un después en mi trayectoria. Por primera vez, sentí que el esfuerzo de estos siete años empezaba a tomar forma, a cobrar sentido. Nunca antes me habían pagado un viaje por mi trabajo, y vivir esta experiencia fue realmente motivador.

El objetivo principal de mi visita era fotografiar los platos más representativos del restaurante para las redes sociales, pero también capturar la esencia del lugar. El restaurante está ubicado en un punto turístico, por lo que quería destacar detalles que invitaran a los turistas a visitar la zona.

Before the trip, I decided to prepare myself thoroughly. I knew I couldn't waste this opportunity, so I studied about food marketing and food photography. I designed a strategy that would allow me to take advantage of every minute and provide a service that would exceed my client's expectations.

This experience taught me something crucial: success does not come overnight. Every previous failure, every project that didn't go as expected, prepared me for this moment. But I also understood that this is just the beginning. My goal is not to stay here; I want to keep growing and reaching new heights.

Getting out of our comfort zone is not easy. It involves facing uncomfortable situations, dealing with clients that don't always fit our vision, but somehow teach us valuable lessons. Those moments, however challenging they may be, are stepping stones that bring us closer to our goals.

Antes del viaje, decidí prepararme a conciencia. Sabía que no podía desperdiciar esta oportunidad, así que estudié sobre marketing gastronómico y fotografía de alimentos. Diseñé una estrategia que me permitiera aprovechar cada minuto y brindar un servicio que superara las expectativas de mi cliente.

Esta experiencia me enseñó algo crucial: el éxito no llega de la noche a la mañana. Cada fracaso previo, cada proyecto que no salió como esperaba, me preparó para este momento. Pero también entendí que este es solo el comienzo. Mi meta no es quedarme aquí; quiero seguir creciendo y alcanzando nuevas alturas.

Salir de nuestra zona de confort no es fácil. Implica enfrentarnos a situaciones incómodas, lidiar con clientes que no siempre encajan con nuestra visión, pero que, de alguna manera, nos enseñan lecciones valiosas. Esos momentos, por desafiantes que sean, son escalones que nos acercan a nuestras metas.

Today I want to share this message with those who are taking their first steps as entrepreneurs: work every day, even if the results are not immediately visible. Opportunities come when we are ready, and it is up to us to take advantage of them. I am still on the road, learning and preparing for what is to come. If I have learned anything, it is that perseverance, effort and preparation are the keys to keep growing.
