Hola mi gente de Hive Gaming, bienvenidos a mi post, hoy les hablare de el 1er juego, cronológicamente hablando, de la saga The Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword.

Hello my Hive Gaming people, welcome to my post. Today I’ll be talking about the first game, chronologically speaking, in The Legend of Zelda saga: Skyward Sword.

Primeramente decir que esta entrega sienta las bases del origen de la espada maestra que nunca falta en toda la saga. El juego busca tener profundidad artísticamente hablando, visualmente intenta hacer algo distinto, su calidad visual no intenta ser gráficamente realista, algo que quizás intentaban justificar debido a que este juego es nativo de Nintendo Wii y ya sabemos que dicha consola de sobremesa se quedaba corta en potencia visual frente a rivales directos como la Xbox y la PlayStation. En si, este juego busca verse con colores diferentes, diría que estilo acuarela.

First of all, it must be said that this installment lays the foundations for the origin of the Master Sword, which is never absent throughout the saga. The game seeks to have depth artistically speaking, and visually it tries to do something different. Its visual quality does not aim to be graphically realistic—something they perhaps tried to justify since this game is native to the Nintendo Wii, and we already know that this home console fell short in visual power compared to direct rivals like the Xbox and PlayStation. In essence, this game aims to be seen with different colors, I’d say in a watercolor style.

Otra de su innovación es el control de la espada, que se controlaba directamente con el movimiento que realizabas con la muñeca, a través del control que contaba con sensores de movimiento, vamos, a estas alturas que no conoce de la Wii. Esta vez estaré jugando la remasterización lanzada para la Nintendo Swicht que cuenta con una adaptación para un mando estándar.

Another of its innovations is the sword control, which was directly managed through the wrist movements you performed, thanks to the controller equipped with motion sensors. Come on, at this point who doesn’t know about the Wii? This time I’ll be playing the remaster released for the Nintendo Switch, which includes an adaptation for a standard controller.

La historia empieza con un joven Link en la escuela de caballeros donde tiene que pasar el examen final para ser un caballero y vestirse con el atuendo característico verde que viste en cada saga. He aqui el origen de este atuendo, el cual al graduarte en esta academia, como distinción te dan este traje, de echo, los ya graduados también cuentan con uno lo que difieren con el color donde lo cambian cada año, para el año de nuestro protagonista el color elegido es el verde. De vuelta al examen final, este trata de montar en un pelicaro e intentar alcanzar una estatuilla dorada que lleva otro pelicaro, también existen otro competidores y el primero que lo consiga pasa de año. Ah si, un pelicaro es como una especie de pajaro gigante que todos tienen como una especie de mascota... de distintos colores, y es que el pueblo donde habitan estas personas esta en el cielo, y la única manera de moverse entre estas islas flotantes, son con dichos animales. The story begins with a young Link at the knight academy, where he must pass the final exam to become a knight and wear the characteristic green outfit he dons in every saga. Here lies the origin of this attire: upon graduating from the academy, as a distinction, you are given this outfit. In fact, the already graduated knights also have one, but the color changes every year. For our protagonist’s year, the chosen color is green. Back to the final exam, it consists of riding a Loftwing and trying to catch a golden statuette carried by another Loftwing. There are also other competitors, and the first to succeed advances to the next year. Oh, and a Loftwing is like a giant bird that everyone has as a kind of pet… in different colors. The people of this village live in the sky, and the only way to move between these floating islands is with these creatures.

Link logra pasar la prueba. Su amiga Zelda (si, la que se nombra en el titulo) se cae de su pelicaro hacia el mar de nubes que se sitúa debajo de estas islas y que nadie se ha atrevido a entrar, de ahí que es una zona completamente desconocida y aquí es donde empieza la aventura de nuestro héroe.

Link manages to pass the trial. His friend Zelda (yes, the one named in the title) falls from her Loftwing into the sea of clouds that lies beneath these islands—a place no one has ever dared to enter. Because of this, it is a completely unknown zone, and here is where our hero’s adventure begins.

La noche antes de partir en la busqueda de la chica aparece una especie de espiritu azul y nos lleva hacia la espada maestra, que si ya has jugado alguna entrega de esta saga, debes conocer a esta espada. El espiritu nos acompaña durante toda la aventura porque reside en la espada y nos hacemos con ella. En la mañana siguiente ultimamos los preparativos y partimos hacia una columna de luz que penetra el mar de nubes.

The night before setting out in search of the girl, a kind of blue spirit appears and leads us to the Master Sword—which, if you’ve played any installment of this saga, you must already know. The spirit accompanies us throughout the adventure because it resides within the sword, and we take possession of it. The following morning, we finish our preparations and set off toward a column of light that pierces through the sea of cloud.

Como curiosidad decir que este juego sentó las bases de muchas mecánicas que se usan en Zelda posteriores, y si nos movemos un poco mas atrás, esta saga, fue un pionero de los videojuegos, introduciendo por primera vez la mecánica de tener fijado a un enemigo y poder movernos alrededor de el o atacarlo de forma mas cómoda, algo que hoy en día consideramos muy normal y que se utiliza en otros juegos como Dark Soul.

As a curiosity, this game laid the foundations for many mechanics used in later Zelda titles. And if we go a bit further back, this saga was a pioneer in video games, introducing for the first time the mechanic of locking onto an enemy and being able to move around it or attack more comfortably—something that today we consider completely normal and that is used in other games like Dark Souls.
