Introducing Most Basic Fraction To Kids

As we know that fractions are parts of whole numbers and "Half" is the most basic fraction. If we cut one whole into two equal parts then each part represents half.

In this post I will share three worksheets on introducing Half to kids in 2nd grade. Kids will learn about two equal parts of a whole and how to write this fraction. I also encourage parents to choose daily life examples to make kids fraction literate.

For example; when you order a pizza then tell the kids that each pizza slice is a fraction of whole pizza. Also cookies can be used to introduce basic fractions to kids at home in our kitchens.
