Emmy Award Winner Glenn Weiss proposed his girlfriend Jan Svendsen during the Emmys acceptance speech ceremony.

70th annual Primetime Emmy Awards 2018 will be spoken about in the future for one of the spontaneous proposals ever! One of the best moments of the award show was when award winner Glenn Weiss proposed to his then-girlfriend Jan Friendlander Svendsen while delivering his acceptance speech.Towards the end of his speech, Glenn addressed Jan, his ‘sunshine’ and said, “You ask why I don't want to call you my girlfriend. That's because I want to call you my wife.”

If you thought Glenn slipping his late mother’s ring onto Jen’s finger was the last you saw of the much in love couple before their wedding—you are wrong! Jimmy Kimmel managed to ‘track the lovebirds down’ and made them talk about the surprise proposal! Jimmy Kimmel started the segment by narrating the adorable incident which was the most tweeted about moment from that night. Soon after the camera panned towards the happy couple, who were lounging in a plush bed while sharing a bottle of champagne and toasting glasses! The host went on to congratulate Glenn on winning an Emmy Award for Outstanding Directing for a Variety Special. Jimmy Kimmel also offered his condolences to Glenn Weiss for the loss of his mother mere two weeks before the award show.

On the talk show, Glenn began to explain how the passing of his mother was ‘rough’ but it gave him enough perspective to propose Jan. Talking about the epic timing of his proposal, Glenn added that it could have happened October, November or two years from now on and that asking Jan Friendlander Svendsen to marry him during his speech was completely spontaneous. When Jimmy asked Jan if she had any idea if Glenn Weiss was going to pop the question during his acceptance speech, the newly engaged woman said, “As evidenced by my reaction, the answer is I had no idea at all,” Glenn Weiss Fiancée Jan

Further Jimmy Kimmel asked his guests if they were going to keep up the newfound tradition and get married at the Oscars or the Kids’ Choice Awards.
