I want to enjoy that we are in the month of Halloween, to recall moments full of witchcraft and travel back in time to a walk that, despite the time, deserves a place in my blog. Of course, I warn you that we will have to travel 10 years back and excuse me for the poor quality of the pictures that will follow this story, although the truth is, I think they do justice to the time xD. What really made me do this post, was the idea of filling in my personal map at https://worldmappin.com/@ninaeatshere, it seems to me that it is so empty even though there are several places that I have visited and from which I have so many pictures. So since the US is so big, I thought it would be a good idea to throw a pin over there at once. Also, looking for posts related to what I wanted to write about, I found it strange that there was no pin anchored exactly in *Harry Potter Castle*, so I'm really excited to be the first one to do it xD. This last statement is enough context to make it easy to guess how much I love *Harry Potter*, it's not that weird, I'm from the 90's so I practically grew up with this story. Back then, during the month of February 2014, the movie saga had already ended and the fanbase wanted more. We still want more hahaha that's why it seems fair to track this experience in my blog, thinking that it is very likely that I will come back to this place and I can compare all changes. Back to the story, in 2014 I was still wearing my long hair, now it's hard to believe it, but at that time no one who knew me could imagine me with short hair, it was a total success to get it cut, cause before I was always with my hair up in a ponytail, it didn't suit me any better. So, that lady over there is me, younger, with long hair and very excited to have been given in advance as a birthday present a trip that included, among other destinations in the USA, a visit to this theme park. A dream come true for me. That day my heart was beating wildly, I didn't know how to distribute my attention with so much excitement, so it was a good thing that my sister and my brother-in-law were there to make the best decisions on how to take advantage and spend our time. If not, I would have surely entered into a vicious loop around and around, looking at every single detail. They treated me to the trip and the ticket to *Universal Studios Florida*, which was already a substantial expense, so I was forbidden to waste money on additional *experiences* or collector's items. Although I ended up getting away with a couple of t-shirts and a few snacks from the ones in the movies hahaha. In 2014 the Harry Potter theme park was only half of what it is now. When I arrived at the place there was a large fenced off part before the entrance, announcing that there would be more attractions coming soon, so I got to know only the *Hogsmeade* village area. A few months after my visit, in the summer of that year, the *Diagon Alley* area where the famous fire-breathing dragon now stands was opened, but I haven't been back to see it. Yet.

> Quiero aprovecharme de que estamos en el mes de Halloween, pare recordar momentos llenos de hechicería y viajar en el tiempo a un paseo que, a pesar del tiempo, se merece un lugar en mi blog. Eso sí, advierto que tendremos que viajar 10 años atrás y perdonarme la mala calidad de las fotos que acompañarán este relato, aunque la verdad, creo que le hacen justicia al momento xD.
Lo que realmente me motivó a hacer este post, fue la idea de ir completando mi mapa personal en https://worldmappin.com/@ninaeatshere, me parece que está tan vacío a pesar de que hay varios lugares que he visitado y de los que tengo tantas fotografías. Entonces como Estados Unidos es tan grande, pensé que sería buena idea lanzar un pin por allí de una vez. Además, buscando publicaciones relacionadas con lo que quería escribir, me pareció extraño que no hubiese ningún pin anclado exactamente en el *Castillo de Harry Potter*, por lo que me hace mucha ilusión ser la primera en hacerlo xD.
Eso último es contexto suficiente para que sea fácil adivinar lo mucho que me gusta *Harry Potter*, no es tan raro, soy de los 90’s así que prácticamente crecí con esta historia. Por aquel entonces, durante el mes de febrero de 2014, ya se había culminado la saga de películas y la fanaticada quería más. Aún queremos más jajaja es por ello que me parece justo registrar este experiencia en mi blog, pensando que es muy probable que vuelva a este lugar y pueda contrastar todos los cambios.
Regreso a la historia, en 2014 yo aún llevaba el pelo largo, ahora es difícil creerlo, pero en ese momento nadie que me conocía podría imaginarme con el pelo corto, fue un total acierto cortarlo, porque antes estaba siempre con el pelo recogido en una coleta, no me hacía mas nada. Así que, esa señorita que está allí soy yo, mas joven, con pelo largo y muy ilusionada por haber recibido por adelantado como regalo de cumpleaños un viaje que contemplaba, entre otros destinos por USA, la visita a este parque temático. Un sueño hecho realidad para mí.
Ese día mi corazón latía desenfrenadamente, no sabía como distribuir mi atención con tanta emoción, por lo que fue una surte que mi hermana y mi cuñado estuviesen allí para tomar las decisiones mas acertadas de cómo aprovechar y distribuir nuestro tiempo. Si no, seguramente yo hubiese entrado en un circulo vistoso de darle vueltas a todo observando cada detalle. Ellos me habían regalado el viaje y la entrada a *Universal Studios Florida*, que era ya un gasto considerable, por lo que tenía prohibido querer gastar dinero en *experiencias* adicionales u objetos de colección. Aunque terminé yéndome con un par de camisetas y unos cuantos chuches de los que salen en las pelis jajaja.
En 2014 el parque temático de Harry Potter era solo la mitad de lo que es ahora. Cuando llegué al lugar había una gran parte vallada antes de la entrada, anunciando que próximamente habrían más atracciones, por lo que yo conocí solamente la zona de la aldea de *Hogsmeade*. Pocos meses después de mi visita, en verano de ese año, se inauguró la zona de *Diagon Alley* en donde ahora se encuentra el famoso dragón que echa fuego, pero yo no he vuelto para verlo. Aún.

Back then, the first thing you came across when you passed the entrance was the *Hogwarts Express*, the famous scarlet train that took you to the magical world in the movies. For me it was impressive, even though at the time all it did was blow some steam over the top and just exist. I think there is now an area where you can access a platform and ride it. My relatives were very happy to see me smiling like a little girl and took lots and lots of pictures of me in every nook and cranny, something I don't usually do much of. In fact, I was so excited that there were many pictures that I took just for the sake of it, they didn't make any sense, but here I have selected the most reasonable ones hahaha. My sister wanted me to take a picture with the driver, she had to insist because I refused, I told her that this man never appeared in books or movies and that it was silly to want a picture with an invention. But the truth is that it wasn't an awful picture, it's just that I didn't know how to process everything well and I wanted to take advantage of every moment I had. I hadn't been to those parks in Florida either and I didn't know that the whole idea was to take pictures with some randoms.

> Aquella vez, lo primero con lo que te topabas al pasar la entrada era con el *Hogwarts Express*, el famoso tren escarlata que te trasladaba al mundo mágico en las películas. Para mí fue impresionante, a pesar de que en ese momento lo único que hacía era echar algo de vapor por arriba y simplemente existir. Creo que ahora hay una zona en la que se puede acceder a un anden y montar en él.
Mis familiares estaban muy contentos de verme sonriendo como una niña y me hicieron muchísimas fotos en cada rincón, algo que no suelo hacer mucho. De hecho, estaba tan extasiada que hubo muchas fotografías que hice sin más, no tenían ningún sentido, pero aquí he seleccionado las más justificables jajaja.
Mi hermana quería que me tomara una foto con el conductor, tuvo que insistir porque yo me negaba, le decía que ese hombre nunca apareció en los libros ni en las películas y que era una tontería querer una foto con un invento. Pero la verdad es que no era una foto fea, lo que pasa es que yo no sabía cómo procesar bien todo y quería aprovechar cada momento que tenía. Tampoco había estado nunca en esos parques de Florida y no sabía que la idea era hacerse fotos con personajes randoms.

Once the shoot with the locomotive was over, from which I didn't want to leave, we moved forward until we had a general view of the village, something that left me impressed by the details of the replicas. I stood in my spot, unable to decide where to go next, so my brother-in-law pulled me by the arm to the right and told me that the first thing we had to do was to go to the roller coaster, because there was no queue at all and so we got off one of the biggest rides in one go. I had no idea about anything, so I let them guide me, they had been to the parks before and knew that the queues could be exhausting. At first I thought it was a great idea, because the way to the roller coaster was a walk through a forest where the *Hagrid* ranger's hut and the famous flying car were located. But before you get to that, you were walking in the middle of many banners with references to the “Triwizard Tournament”, many banners in support of each of the participants and the schools of magic adorned the ride. I was amazed and tried to tell my companions what it was all about, they just nodded and laughed at my excitement. It all seemed so beautiful to me. I clearly remember the feeling of surprise when, far down the forest path, I began to see *Hagrid's hut*, I hadn't wanted to find out anything before visiting the park, so everything I found was a surprise. I had a brief moment of disappointment when I saw that it was not accessible, just to get a glimpse of the facade, but it was nice to see that style of construction so characteristic of the movies. I also remember with great joy how proud I was of the pictures I had managed to take of the car and the cabin together, it was as a screensaver on my computer for a long time. Now that I look at it, I think that if I had been concentrating it would have come out much better, but I also understand exactly why I was so proud, it was a very good photo idea.

> Una vez culminada la sesión con la locomotora, de la cual no quería despedirme, avanzamos hasta tener una vista general de la aldea, algo que me dejó impresionada por los detalles de las replicas. Me quedé en mi sitio, sin poder decidir a donde ir a continuación, así que mi cuñado me jaló por el brazo hacia la derecha y me dijo que lo primero que teníamos que hacer era ir a la montaña rusa, porque no había nada de cola y así salimos de una de las atracciones mas grandes de una vez.
Yo no tenía idea de nada, así que me dejé llevar por ellos, que habían estado en los parque otras veces y sabían que lo de las colas podía llegar a ser agotador. De entrada me pareció una idea genial, porque el camino hasta la montaña rusa era un paseo por un bosque en donde se encontraba la cabaña del guardabosques *Hagrid* y el famoso coche volador.
Pero antes de llegar a eso, paseabas en medio de muchos estandartes con referencias al “Torneo de los tres magos”, muchas pancartas en apoyo a cada uno de los participantes y las escuelas de magia adornaban el paseo. Yo estaba maravillada e intentaba contarle a mis acompañantes de que se trataba todo eso, ellos solo asentían y se reían por mi emoción. Me parecía todo precioso.
Recuerdo con claridad la sensación de sorpresa cuando, a lo lejos por el camino del bosque, comencé a divisar la *cabaña de Hagrid*, yo no había querido averiguar nada antes de visitar el parque, así que todo lo que me encontraba era sorpresa. Tuve un breve momento de desilusión cuando vi que no se podía acceder, solo ver la fachada, pero fue bonito ver ese etilo de construcción tan característicos de las películas.
También recuerdo con mucha alegría lo orgullosa que estaba yo de las fotos que había logrado hacer del coche y la cabaña juntos, estuvo como protector de pantalla en mi ordenador durante mucho tiempo. Ahora que la veo, pienso que si hubiese estado concentrada hubiese salido mucho mejor, pero también entiendo exactamente por qué estaba tan orgullosa, era una muy buena idea de foto.

I really liked that walk in the middle of the forest towards the roller coaster, I think that at some point we had the impression that we were going the opposite of what it should be, because we didn't meet anyone and that was the route that should have the queue for the roller coaster, but what happened is that everyone went first to the castle or was distracted by so many tents, so our idea was great, or at least that's what we thought. At the top of the trail, you could see the village and the castle from different angles. I couldn't wait to get down and get close to all the places, but if there's one thing about those parks, it's that it's not so easy to change direction once you enter a path. Plus my brother-in-law would pass on his excitement to ride the roller coaster to me, he was super motivated with any of the rides that would get our adrenaline pumping. Poor me, I didn't know what was awaiting me.

> Ese paseo en medio del bosque hacia la montaña rusa me gustó muchísimo, creo que en algún momento nos dio la impresión de que lo estábamos recorriendo al contrario de lo que debería ser, porque no nos encontrábamos a nadie y ese era el recorrido que debería tener la cola para la montaña rusa, pero lo que sucedía es que todo el mundo se dirigía primero al castillo o se distraía entre tantas tiendas, así que nuestra idea estuvo genial, o al menos eso fue lo que pensamos.
En la parte más alta del recorrido, se veían desde distintos ángulos la aldea y el castillo. Yo moría de ganas por bajar y acercarme a todos los lugares, pero si algo tienen esos parques, es que no es tan fácil cambiar de dirección una vez que entras en un camino. Además mi cuñado me contagiaba su emoción por subir a la montaña rusa, él estaba súper motivado con cualquiera de las atracciones que nos dispararan la adrenalina. Pobre de mí, no sabía lo que me esperaba.

I had never ridden a roller coaster of great magnitude, much less those that go around 360 degrees. I had only been on some children's rides when I was a kid, where the most extreme thing was to get a little speed on a curve. Nothing more. So, being in the famous Orlando parks, obviously I had to go on roller coasters. Before that day, I had thought of trying from the softest and see if I was able to endure them without making me feel sick, but being there, I was not able to think about anything, I was just following the path because it all seemed like a good idea. Big mistake. Another important detail, I get dizzy even in the buses, in the flying chairs of children's playgrounds, just turning around three times with my eyes closed. It was normal that this wasn't for me, but who was going to take that into account when you were greeted by the workers so animated telling you that you were going to live a duel of dragons and that the experience was brutal. Not me, sadly. Today this attraction no longer exists in the park. It has been replaced by something related to *Hagrid's flying motorcycle*, another reason I find it interesting documenting this experience here. When I go back, I'll be able to compare which of the two is more intense. perhaps. The ride was called **Dragon Challenge** and consisted of a pair of inverted roller coasters that intertwined with each other. One red and the other blue, each with a separate track, but that gave you the feeling that they were passing so close that they could actually collide. Hahaha I remember that and I feel sick xD. When we arrived, they were waiting for us so they could fill up moderately and the ride could begin, as far as time optimization we did very well there. We were asked which color dragon we would like to ride and my brother in law chose blue thinking it would be a little softer than red. It turned out to be the opposite. I remember how the excitement and slight nervousness of the moment quickly turned into terror and discomfort (dizziness), I try to remember it and I really feel sick hahaha it was a terrible experience for me.

> Vale, es importante destacar que yo no dejo de hacer cosas solo por no haberlas probado antes. Nunca me había montado en una montaña rusa de gran magnitud, mucho menos en esas que dan vueltas de 360 grados. Solamente había estado en alguna atracción infantil de pequeña, en las que lo más extremo era que cogieran un poco de velocidad en alguna curva. Nada más.
Así que, estando en los famosos parques de Orlando, obviamente tenía que subirme a las montañas rusas. Antes de ese día, había pensado ir probando desde la más suave e ir viendo si era capaz de aguantarlas sin que me hicieran sentir enferma, pero estando allí, no era capaz de pensar en nada, solo estaba siguiendo el camino porque todo me parecía buena idea.
Grave error. Otro detalle importante, yo me mareo hasta en los autobuses, en las sillas voladoras de los parque infantiles, dando tres vueltas con los ojos cerrados. Normal que esto no fuera para mí, pero quién iba a tener eso en cuenta cuando te recibían los trabajadores tan animados diciéndote que ibas a vivir un duelo de dragones y que la experiencia era brutal. Yo no, tristemente.
Actualmente esta atracción ya no existe en el parque. Ha sido sustituida por algo relacionado con la *moto voladora de Hagrid*, otro motivo por el que me parece interesante documentar esta experiencia aquí. Cuando vuelva, podrá comparar cual de las dos es mas intensa. quizás.
La atracción se llamaba **Desafío del Dragón** y consistía en un par de montañas rusas invertidas que se entrelazaban entre sí. Una roja y la otra azul, cada una con una vía independiente, pero que te daba la sensación de que pasaban tan cerca que podrían llegar a chocarse. Jajaja lo recuerdo y me siento mal xD.
Cuando llegamos, esperaban por nosotros para que se llenaran medianamente y pudiera comenzar el recorrido, en cuanto a optimización de tiempo nos fue muy bien allí. Nos preguntaron cual color de dragón nos gustaría montar y mi cuñado eligió el azul pensando que sería un poco más suave que el rojo. Resultó ser lo contrario.
Recuerdo como la emoción y nerviosismo ligero del momento se convirtió rápidamente en terror e incomodidad (mareos), intento recordarlo y de verdad me siento enferma jajaja fue una experiencia terrible para mí.

The ride started quickly and within a few seconds we were full at such a speed that I had no way to even move. I remember immediately thinking “what a stupid way to die” hahaha I was really angry because I didn't like the feeling at all. My brother in law was next to me and he always remembers that moment with a lot of laughter, he says that when he turned to look at me it seemed that I had become a statue, I didn't move, I didn't scream, I didn't even seem to breathe, I just had my eyes wide open with an expression of perennial fear. I remember him shouting excitedly in my ear, telling me to enjoy it, but I couldn't even look at him, I was angry. It's so funny to remember that feeling of disappointment, I felt let down that I had gotten on something that made me feel bad. Inside my head I just kept repeating that it had been a very bad idea and that it was a pity that “those were the last moments of my life” hahaha I really thought so, it seemed to me that this was it, that there was no way I could survive such nonsense. x'D The ride lasted two and a half minutes, but it took me forever. The speed exceeded 90km/h in some sections, but the worst of all is that most of the time you were upside down, hanging over the void. Terrible. HAHAHAHA. When it was over, my brother-in-law couldn't stop laughing, I had a hard time getting off, I was totally dizzy, pale and had no strength. I didn't throw up, I was super dizzy but I had eaten very little at breakfast as a precaution and it wasn't a disaster, but the feeling was horrible. Really bad. All the time we saved in line, we had to spend waiting for me to recover, my companions are doctors, so they gave me things to drink and eat that helped me recover relatively quickly. But I have never forgotten the bad time I had. They took the picture of me from above while I complained and said that was a lousy idea, how could they let me go up there if they knew how sensitive I was and how disgusted I was to even consider trying the *Butter Beer* my sister joked about buying me. Any illusions of trying strange things, disappeared at that moment. I had to pull myself together though, because our tour had only just begun.

> El paseo comenzó rápidamente y con poco tiempo para pensar o prepararse, en pocos segundos estábamos lleno a tal velocidad que no tenía siquiera forma de moverme. Recuerdo haber pensado de inmediato “que estúpida forma de morir” jajaja estaba realmente enfadada porque la sensación no me gustaba nada.
Mi cuñado iba a mi lado y siempre recuerda ese momento con muchas risas, dice que cuando volteaba a mirarme parecía que yo me hubiese vuelto una estatua, no me movía, no gritaba, ni siquiera parecía que respirara, solo tenía los ojos muy abiertos con una expresión de susto perenne. Recuerdo que él me gritaba emocionado al oido, diciendo que lo disfrutara, pero yo no podía siquiera mirarle, estaba enfadaba.
Me causa mucha gracia recordar esa sensación de decepción, me sentía defraudada de haberme subido en algo que me hiciera sentir mal. Dentro de mi cabeza solo repetía que eso había sido muy mala idea y que era una lástima que “esos fueran los últimos momentos de mi vida” jajaja en verdad lo creí así, me pareció que eso había sido todo, que no había forma de sobrevivir a semejante tontería. x’D
La atracción duraba dos minutos y medio, pero a mí se me hizo eterno. La velocidad lograba sobrepasar los 90km/h en algunos tramos, pero lo peor de todo es que la mayor parte del tiempo estabas de cabeza, colgando, sobre el vacío. Terrible. JAJAJA.
Cuando acabó, mi cuñado no paraba de reírse, a mí me costó bajarme, estaba totalmente mareada, pálida y sin fuerzas. No vomité, estaba súper mareada pero había comido muy poquito en el desayuno por precaución y no llegó a ser un desastre, pero la sensación fue horrible. Malísima.
Todo el tiempo que nos ahorramos de cola, lo tuvimos que emplear en esperar que yo me recuperara, mis acompañantes son médicos, así que me dieron cosas de beber y comer que me ayudaron a recuperar relativamente rápido. Pero el mal rato que pasé nunca lo he olvidado.
Me sacaron la foto de arriba mientras me quejaba y decía que eso había sido una pésima idea, que como me dejaron subir allí si sabían lo sensible que soy y el asco que me daba si quiera considerar probar la *Cerveza de mantequilla* que mi hermana bromeaba con comprarme. Cualquier ilusión de probar cosas extrañas, desapareció en ese momento.
Sin embargo tenía que recuperarme, porque nuestro paseo solamente acababa de comenzar.

We rested, calmed me down and waited for me to recover enough to continue with the walk. The truth is that what made me angry was to go through such an unpleasant feeling right at the beginning of everything, being that I was so excited, but I was angry at my susceptibility. I decided to leave that aside and try to go more carefully to enjoy the rest, my sister was very attentive and comforting me all the time hahaha but it was very funny to her too. We headed to the castle, to the attraction known as “Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey” which I had no idea what it was about either, I was just excited about the idea of going into the castle. Just seeing it from the outside seemed amazing, looking at the pictures now, I have to say that they don't do it justice at all, my dizziness didn't let me take very decent pictures. In this occasion we did have to wait in line, it lasted quite a while but we were on the move for almost the whole time. The entrance was a cave in the rock, a bit ugly I thought, but it gave that touch of suspense to the path. Once inside, you were greeted by an amazing scenery full of “magic paintings” that moved, waved and talked. I wasn't able to take good pictures in there, it doesn't show in my images how cool it was. If you like the Harry Potter saga this is quite a spectacle, if not, you probably won't think it's a big deal, because if you don't know the details that they have tried to replicate, you may think the atmosphere is rather ugly. I honestly thought that the attraction was to walk that path inside the castle, it seemed fantastic enough to deserve that queue. As we walked along, we came across iconic elements such as the *Mirror of Oesed* or the *Hogwarts Four Houses Point Counter*. All magical, all beautiful to me. We also accessed places that represented the headmaster's office *Dumbledore*, the famous *Gryffindor's common room* or some classrooms, where projections of the main characters of the movie appeared telling you about the plot that was developing in the attraction, I don't remember exactly what it was about, but as always Harry Potter had to save the day and venture in the midst of imminent danger.

> Descansamos, me tranquilizaron y esperamos que me recuperara lo suficiente para seguir con el paseo. La verdad es que lo que me enfadaba era pasar por una sensación tan desagradable justo al principio de todo, siendo que estaba tan emocionada, pero me enfadaba era mi susceptibilidad. Decidí dejar eso de lado e intentar ir con más cuidado para disfrutar del resto, mi hermana estuvo muy atenta y consolándome todo el rato jajaja pero le causaba mucha gracia también.
Nos dirigimos al castillo, a la atracción conocida como “Harry Potter y el Viaje Prohibido” que tampoco tenía idea de qué se trataba, a mí solo me emocionaba la idea de entrar al castillo. Ya tan solo verlo desde afuera me parecía sorprendente, viendo las fotos ahora, tengo que decir que no le hacen nada de justicia, mis mareos no me dejaron hacer fotos muy decentes.
En este caso sí que tuvimos que hacer toda la cola, duró bastante pero estuvimos en movimiento durante casi todo el tiempo. La entrada era un agujero en la roca, un poco feo me pareció, pero le daba ese toque de suspenso al camino. Una vez adentro, te recibía un sorprendente escenario lleno de “cuadros mágicos” que se movían, saludaban y hablaba. No pude hacer buenas fotos allí dentro, no se aprecia en mis imágenes lo genial que era. Si te gusta la saga de Harry Potter esto es todo un espectáculo, si no, probablemente no te parezca la gran cosa, porque si desconoces los detalles que se han esforzado en replicar, te puede parecer que el ambiente es mas bien feo.
Yo creía, sinceramente, que la atracción era recorrer ese sendero dentro del castillo, me parecía lo suficientemente fantástico para merecer esa cola. A medida que avanzábamos íbamos encontrándonos elementos icónicos como el *Espejo de Oesed* o el *Contador de puntos de las cuatro casas de Hogwarts*. Todo mágico, todo bello para mí.
También accedíamos a lugares que representaban la oficina del director *Dumbledore*, la famosa *sala común de Gryffindor* o algunas aulas de clases, en donde aparecían proyecciones de los personajes principales de la película informándote de la trama que se estaba desarrollando en la atracción, no recuerdo exactamente de qué se trataba, pero como siempre Harry Potter tenía que salvar el día y aventurarse en medio de un inminente peligro.

So we discovered, as we walked through the greenhouse of the herbology classes, that we were heading for the real attraction, an indoor, partially virtual roller coaster that pretended you were riding on Harry Potter's broomstick. And it moved soooo much, going round and round and round. Oddly enough, this didn't make me feel bad. I attribute it to the immersive experience I got completely into, well, and to the fact that after the dragon roller coaster the rest of the rides were much lighter. This is going to sound very exaggerated, but I remember this exact moment as one of the happiest of my life hahahahaha very fan, really. At first I was worried about getting motion sickness, but I decided to focus on following *Harry Potter* and being attentive to the story, then it became very easy to be at ease there despite so much movement. I don't have any pictures of that attraction, but there were some chairs grouped in three or four stands, anchored to a mechanical arm that moved madly while some projections made you feel like you were inside a video game. I thought it was wonderful, I believed the whole story, I flew on a broom, I fought against a dragon, I faced countless *dementors*, and at the end of the 4 minutes that everything lasted, I felt like I was Harry Potter himself, a total change of attitude. We were all worried about me, but it was so surprising and cool to find out that I didn't feel bad, so my crazy idea of queuing up again to repeat this attraction, didn't seem far-fetched to my companions and we headed back to the beginning, but only to give up after about 15 minutes of being stuck.

> Descubrimos pues, mientras atravesábamos el invernadero de las clases de herbología, que nos dirigíamos a la verdadera atracción, una montaña rusa bajo techo y parcialmente virtual que simulaba que viajabas en sobre la escoba de Harry Potter. Y se movía muuuuucho, dando vueltas y más vueltas.
Curiosamente, esto no me hizo sentir mal. Yo lo atribuyo a la experiencia inmersiva en la que me metí por completo, bueno, y a que después de la montaña rusa de los dragones el resto de atracciones eran más ligeras.
Esto va a sonar muy exagerado, pero recuerdo este momento exactamente como uno de los más felices de mi vida jajajaja muy fan, de verdad. Al principio estaba preocupada por el mareo, pero decidí concentrarme en seguir a *Harry Potter* y estar atenta a la historia, entonces se me hizo muy fácil estar a gusto allí a pesar de tanto movimiento.
No tengo ninguna fotografía de esa atracción, pero eran unas sillas agrupadas en tres o cuatro puestos, ancladas a un brazo mecánico que se movía como loco mientras unas proyecciones te hacían sentir que estabas dentro de un videojuego.
Me pareció maravilloso, me creí toda la historia, volé en una escoba, luche contra un dragón, me enfrente a innumerables *dementores*, y al final de los 4 minutos que duraba todo, yo ya sentía que era el mismísimo Harry Potter, un cambio de actitud total.
Todos estábamos preocupados por mí, pero fue tan sorprendente y genial descubrir que no me sentía mal, que mi loca idea de volver a hacer la cola para repetir esta atracción, no les pareció descabellada a mis acompañantes y nos dirigimos de nuevo al principio, pero solo para abandonar después de unos 15 minutos detenidos.

As my euphoria passed, we realized that when we had entered there were not as many people as this time, so we could invest all that time in different things, therefore we continued to the *Hogsmeade* village to, at last, explore the places and the wonderful replicas of each element of the Harry Potter series. I was so enchanted with the ceilings, I couldn't stop looking at them, I hadn't realized how many pictures of the ceilings I had taken until we got to the hotel haha it was funny. It was all so magical, so witchy and so gothic that I couldn't help but feel fascinated. I really like that style. Yes, I was a little girl again at that moment. They gave me all the time I wanted to look at the stores and the curious objects to my liking, as long as I didn't get in line to select my magic wand because it was really huge hahaha it didn't bother me because beyond the show I was enjoying the atmosphere. I was very happy.

> Al pasar mi euforia, nos dimos cuenta que el momento en que habíamos entrado no había tanta gente como ahora, por lo que podíamos invertir todo ese rato en cosas diferentes, así que continuamos hacia la aldea de *Hogsmeade* para, al fin, explorar los lugares y las maravillosas replicas que había de cada elemento de la serie de Harry Potter.
Yo estaba encantadísima con los techos, no podía dejar de verlos, no me había dado cuenta cuántas fotos a los techos había hecho hasta que llegamos al hotel jaja fue gracioso.
Es que era todo tan mágico, tan de brujas y tan gótico que no podía mas que sentirme fascinada. Me gusta mucho ese estilo.
Sí, era una niña otra vez en ese momento. Me dieron todo el tiempo que quise para mirar las tiendas y los curiosos objetos a mi gusto, siempre que no me pusiera a hacer la cola para seleccionar mi varita mágica porque esta era enorme jajaja no me molestó porque más allá del show yo estaba disfrutando del ambiente. Estaba muy feliz.

The pity was that at that moment, after the wild roller coaster ride at the beginning, I didn't have the stomach to eat anything at all. It was a shame, because one of my plans was to eat at one of the themed restaurants, I thought it was super fun to order food with weird names, even if it was something normal at the end, but it was an ideal that I couldn't satisfy and that I wouldn't have dared to try after what happened. Ten years ago I had no intention of blogging or doing food reviews, but I always took pictures of everything, including my food, even though I never posted them anywhere, they were my special memories. Now I'm glad I didn't post more than a couple of photos from this trip on social media and can finally safeguard them here, along with its story. What I did do was to buy some snacks and candies related to the movies, I bought several chocolate frogs, *bertie bott's every flavour beans* and other things that I no longer remember, because I knew that days later, when I remembered with nostalgia that I did not eat anything, this would serve as a consolation.

> Lo que fue una pena, era que en esos momentos, después de la salvajada de montaña rusa al comienzo, no tenía el estomago como para comer absolutamente nada.
Fue una pena, porque uno de mis planes era entrar a comer a alguno de los restaurantes temáticos, me parecía super divertido pedir comidas con nombres raros, aunque al final fuese algo normal, pero era una idea que no pude satisfacer y que ni por asomo me hubiese atrevido a intentar después de lo sucedido.
Hace 10 años no tenía la menor intención de escribir blogs o hacer reseñas de comida, pero siempre sacaba fotos de todo, incluyendo mi comida, a pesar de que nunca las publicaba en ningún lugar, eran mis recuerdos especiales. Ahora me alegro de no haber publicado más que un par de fotos de este viaje en redes sociales y poder finalmente resguardarlas aquí, acompañadas de su historia.
Lo que sí hice fue una compra de algunos snacks y dulces relacionados con las películas, me compré varias ranas de chocolate, grageas de todos los sabores y otras cosas que ya no recuerdo, porque sabía que días después, cuando recordara con nostalgia que no comí nada, esto serviría de consuelo.

Ten years passed since that visit and I wouldn't have imagined that so long after I didn't come back. I remember being so excited about going back that I imagined being there again a couple of years later, discovering all the new attractions. But life happens and it all became very complicated afterwards. It was not such an easy plan to go back just to go to a theme park, and now I am much farther away from the United States than before. However, I haven't gone to London either, where there are related exhibitions, nor have I gone to the itinerant attractions that tour around here, I had to grow up xD but I hope to have the chance to be a little girl there again. This post has been excessively long, but I had a great time remembering this ride and laughing at myself for the bad time I had on the roller coaster, I just wasn't even able to try and get on the children's roller coaster of *The Flight of the Hippogriff*, I was totally traumatized by the experience with the dragons. Anyway, this long blog has been more of a way to honor my memories, I don't think anyone will actually read all this, but I've had too much fun writing it. I think the best way to farewell this journey to the past is with this last picture. When we took it, we had no idea what the new attractions would be and I already thought it was a huge tour, so in a next visit I will have to be better prepared and of course, no roller coasters that go at 100km/h for me. > Diez años han pasado desde esa visita y no me hubiese imaginado que tanto tiempo después no haya vuelto. Recuerdo haber estado tan entusiasmada con la idea de regresar que me imaginaba estar allí de nuevo un par de años después, descubriendo todas las nuevas atracciones.
Pero la vida pasa y todo se volvió muy complicado después. No era un plan tan sencillo regresar tan solo por ir a un parque temático, y ahora estoy mucho más lejos de Estados Unidos que antes. Sin embargo tampoco me ha dado por ir a Londres, en donde hay exposiciones relacionadas, ni tampoco he acudido a las atracciones itinerantes que giran por ahí, me ha tocado crecer xD pero espero tener la oportunidad de volver a ser pequeña allí otra vez.
Este post ha quedado excesivamente largo, pero me lo he pasado muy bien recordando este paseo y riéndome de mi misma por lo mal que lo pasé en la montaña rusa, es que al salir ni siquiera fui capaz de probar y subirme a la montaña rusa infantil de *El vuelo del Hipogrifos*, estaba totalmente traumada por la experiencia con los dragones. En fin, que este largo blog ha sido más bien una forma de honrar a mis recuerdos, no creo que alguien sea capaz de leerse todo esto, pero yo me lo he pasado demasiado escribiéndolo.
Me parece que la mejor forma de despedir este viaje al pasado es con esta última foto. Cuando la hicimos, no teníamos idea de cuales serían las nuevas atracciones y ya me parecía grande el recorrido que hicimos en ese momento, así que en una próxima visita tendré que estar mejor preparada y eso sí, nada de montañas rusas que vayan a 100km/h para mi.
