One of the advantages of the winter season is that you don't have to stay up until midnight to take night photos. Darkness comes early. The city at night is completely different than during the day. Less cars driving, less people walking. Even when it's not quite that late, the streets are almost completely emptied.

Jedna z výhod zimního období je ta, že na noční fotky není potřeba být vzhůru až do půlnoci. Tma přichází brzo. Noční město je úplně jiné, než přes den. Jezdí míň aut, chodí míň lidí. I když není až tak úplně pozdě, tak ulice jsou téměř vylidněné.

Some corners of the city, when bathed in the soft and warm light of lamps, look quite poetic. (And in the graphic editor I added. Maybe too much. But let's call it "artistic expression" 😀 )

Některá městská zákoutí, když jsou zalitá měkkým a teplým světlem lamp, vypadají docela poeticky. (A v grafickém editoru jsem tomu ještě přidal. Možná až příliš. Ale říkejme tomu "umělecké vyjádření" 😀 )

But you know what else is interesting? That the night city not only has a different look, different lighting, but it also has different sounds. It's not nearly as quiet as it might seem, but the sounds are different. You can hear what is otherwise covered by the normal traffic. The hum of the ventilation, the gurgling in the ducts, the voices behind the lighted windows... Walk through the city at night and feel it with all your senses...

Ale víte, co je ještě zajímavé? Že noční město má nejen jiný vzhled, jiné osvětlení, ale má i jiné zvuky. Ani zdaleka není tak tiché, jak by se mohlo zdát, ale ty zvuky jsou jiné. Je slyšet to, co je jindy překryté běžným ruchem. Šum ventilace, bublání v kanálech, hlasy za osvětlenými okny... Projít se nočním městem a vnímat ho všemi smysly...
