Margot is the one who suffers the most with these weather changes. She’s very afraid of rain and always senses it before the first drop even falls. Yesterday was no different. While I was getting ready to go to pilates, she was already showing signs of nervousness, sensing the storm was on its way. Looking for safety, she ran straight to my stepson’s room, which is also where my boyfriend works during the week (since my stepson only comes on weekends), as if seeking shelter in a safe haven. She chose the bed, grabbed the blanket, and curled up there, trying to protect herself. She stayed quiet, ears alert and eyes full of apprehension, waiting for the storm to pass. Seeing Margot like this always breaks my heart, but it also reminds me how sensitive animals are, noticing things we often overlook. For her, that moment of fear only becomes bearable because she knows I’ll be back soon. And it’s precisely that trust that makes our bond so special. --- [PT] Ontem a primavera deu as caras por aqui, trazendo tudo o que a estação tem de mais característico: um dia ensolarado, seguido daquela chuva forte e repentina que só quem vive no Brasil conhece bem. O céu amanheceu limpo, com sol brilhando, mas bastou a tarde avançar para as nuvens escuras tomarem conta do horizonte e a chuva cair pesada. Quem sofre com essas mudanças de tempo é a Margot. Ela tem muito medo de chuva e sempre percebe antes mesmo da primeira gota cair. Ontem não foi diferente. Enquanto eu me arrumava para ir ao pilates, ela já demonstrava estar nervosa, pressentindo que a tempestade estava a caminho. Em busca de segurança, correu direto para o quarto do meu enteado, que também é onde o meu namorado trabalha durante a semana (já que meu enteado só vem nos finais de semana), como quem procura abrigo num porto seguro. Escolheu a cama, agarrou o edredom e se encolheu ali, tentando se proteger. Ficou quietinha, de orelhas atentas e olhar apreensivo, esperando o barulho da chuva passar. Ver a Margot assim sempre me parte o coração, mas também reforça o quanto os animais são sensíveis e percebem coisas que muitas vezes nós ignoramos. Para ela, aquele momento de medo só se torna suportável porque sabe que logo estarei de volta. E é justamente essa confiança que torna nossa conexão tão especial. Essa foto foi tirada instantes antes da chuva cair forte.
