That same leader who attacked Japan went on just a few years later to control all of china (as in the above map). Now it’s during the Yuan Dynasty, essentially Mongolian rule, that China is referencing its territorial claims today. They are using Yuan dynasty maps. Now it’s confusing. (Technically Mongolia should be making claims.
