As a kid, the animated version of this movie was one of the shows I enjoyed watching. I remember the thrill I felt whenever zorro comes to the rescue riding on his midnight black horse. It was all so amazing. I had no idea it had a movie until I came across it on Netflix so I didn't hesitate to add it to my watchlist. When I finally saw it I wasn't disappointed at all. The experience only made me appreciate the movie a lot more than I used to.

**Plot Summary** The movie is set in 1850s California. The city faces threats from a secret society that stands against the people's plans to make California a state. As the hero, it lies on the shoulders of Zorro to save the people from this threat. Don Alejandro de la Vega (zorro's identity) has a dilemma. His wife wants him to quit heroism because of how unavailable it makes him. She fears their son will grow up without knowing his father if he continues being zorro. Alejandro refuses to quit being zorro because he fears the people will suffer without him. This provokes Elena to file for divorce.

A series of events bring the two together after the divorce. They discover that they are both trying to fight the threat in their unique ways. This brings some momentary truce between them as they begin to work together to achieve their goal. They succeed in the end and get back together because in truth they never stopped loving one another and they all lived happily ever after...the end.

**Highlights** The scenes were entertaining from the first to the last. The actors chosen for the different roles were very fitting as they did their best to represent the different characters they played. The fight scenes, albeit exaggerated were a pleasure to watch. Most of them cracked me up which is great. I like that no matter how serious a scene was there was always something comical about it. I don't think this movie is listed as a comedy but it should be. The chemistry between Alejandro and Elena even after the divorce was beautiful. It was pretty obvious they loved each other despite what Elena said and what Alejandro thought. As an unashamed romantic, I like that Alejandro never gave up on fighting for Elena and it paid off in the end. My favourite character in the movie is definitely Joaquin, their child. The boy is smart and so full of mischief. The funniest scenes in the movie feature him. If everything I've already said doesn't convince you to see this movie this should because in my opinion, everyone loves seeing smart, mischievous children in films no matter how much we may dislike them in real life lol.

**Destacar** Las escenas fueron entretenidas desde el primero hasta el último. Los actores elegidos para los diferentes papeles fueron muy apropiados ya que hicieron todo lo posible para representar a los diferentes personajes que interpretation. Las escenas de lucha, aunque exageradas, fueron un placer de ver. La mayoría de ellos me hizo reír a carcajadas, lo cual es genial. Me gusta que no importa cuán seria sea una escena, siempre hay algo cómico en ella. No creo que esta película esté catalogada como una comedia, pero debería estarlo. La química entre Alejandro y Elena aún después del divorcio fue hermosa. Era bastante obvio que se amaban a pesar de lo que dijera Elena y lo que pensara Alejandro. Como un romántico desvergonzado, me gusta que Alejandro nunca se dio por vencido en la lucha por Elena y al final valió la pena. Mi personaje favorito de la película es definitivamente Joaquín, su hijo. El chico es inteligente y muy travieso. Las escenas más divertidas de la película lo presentan. Si todo lo que he dicho no te convence de ver esta película, debería hacerlo porque, en mi opinión, a todos les encanta ver niños inteligentes y traviesos en las películas, sin importar cuánto nos disgusten en la vida real jajaja.

**Lowlights** Some scenes were really clichè. You could predict exactly what would happen next but this isn't bad. The camera angles were a little off sometimes so it wasn't totally clear what was going on in those scenes. As expected of a hero movie, things almost always worked in Zorro's favour. These things obviously won't happen in real life but the movie can get away with it because it kinda adds to the film's appeal.

**Luces bajas** Algunas escenas eran realmente un cliché. Podrías predecir exactamente lo que sucedería a continuación, pero esto no está mal. **Final thoughts** Although the Legend of Zorro has minor flaws, it is definitely worth your time and should be added to your watch list. As I mentioned earlier this movie is a classic and even though I've seen it only once I can definitely see it again because I don't think it'll ever get boring. ##### *I rate this movie 8 out of 10*
