So, when I entered this game, I didn't expect this important part of its world, which is marriage. In Tree of Savior, you can bond with another player and enjoy adventures together; at least that is how they promote it. Reality can be quite different. Let me show you how I became engaged even before real life lol. ToS has a mode called Treebond Friends. It provides an interface for you to find suitable partners to form a bond with. You have ten refreshing attempts for navigating through players' profiles, pin those you like, and maybe get some proposals. When I first saw all of this, I immediately thought, "WTF? An incorporated Tinder? XD." The game then sounded like Tinder of Savior, haha. Anyways, I was there for the fun and character progression, but I invited several friends to play the game. The first one is a cooperative effort to run a farm and a townhouse. This surely eases the pressure of that content over a single player's shoulders. But it is not all shine and rainbows; it can also bring arguments and very weird situations. Some people just randomly bond to obtain the benefits, while others are already couples in real life, enjoying this feature. Sadly, you also find other players who take the bonding too far, and it starts becoming abusive. In my case, my friend May joined the game a day after me, and she wanted to progress as fast as possible. We are good friends from other games, and we were doing just fine except that social pressure hit her hard. Then, she told me about bonding for benefits. I guess it doesn't just happen in real life XD. When we went to the bonding NPC, Selene, we realized that some sacrifices needed to be made. Treebond friends share the same farm and house. While it is an advantage to have shared storage and a helping hand, one of you has to give up their farm and move into the other one. My friend didn't like this, so she backed out! >! First, finding a possible partner through a dating app, then sharing a home, and having access to a marriage ceremony. It is great for gamer couples in real life, but the rest won't feel very comfortable, I guess. Just for fun, I tried the Treender to find other candidates, and the system told me "be loyal to your treebond friend," hahaha. >! The bonding itself goes like this: you both have to present in front of Selene and manifest your will to become treebond friends; Then, you have to present a ring (the bigger the better); you write an oath on the ring (something that cannot be modified); after that, you choose the farm and townhouse to use (this is the hard part); and you are ready to officially become treebond friends. From this point forward, you both see the ring on your profile. With or without this content, the game is quite enjoyable. We bet on each couple's marriage on how much they will last, if the third is going to be the charm, and similar.
