Mis queridos Hivers, hacer un recuento de “Mi año con Hive” es hacer un recuento de momentos enriquecedores y gratificantes. Desde que comencé a hacer vida activa en nuestra plataforma en marzo de 2022, son muchas las cosas que he aprendido como creadora de contenido, pero también como lectora de los contenidos de otros hIvers, y así también a través de las curadurías y otras conversaciones en el discord, como el programa “Días Ecencyales” o “Noche de talentos” y es mucho lo que todavía tengo por aprender.

Hive nos ofrece en una sola plataforma lo que encontramos por separado en las redes sociales de la Web2: blog, video, imágenes, chat de conversación, microblogging. Un universo amplio de ventajas que aún estoy descubriendo. Algo muy hermoso que he descubierto este año es que Hive te da la oportunidad de crear valor, de ser inspiración para otras personas y de que otras personas te inspiren.

## Las comunidades

Algo muy importante que nos ofrece nuestra plataforma es que en Hive nunca estás solo o sola. Cuando escribimos en nuestro blog siempre lo hacemos en una comunidad y en una comunidad que está conformada por personas afines, es decir, que tienen los mismos intereses que tú. Por lo tanto, puedes enriquecerte con lo que lees y enriquecer a otros que te leen a ti, quienes tienen esos mismos intereses o talentos.

En mi caso, que soy escritora y profesora de literatura y amante de las artes en general, mi aporte se ha enfocado fundamentalmente en la escritura de textos literarios o sobre arte. Aunque también tengo vida activa en comunidades como Holos & Lotus en tanto mi salud física, mental y emocional, se ha vuelto un tema prioritario en los últimos años. O en Weekend experiences, porque su moderador @galenkp propone cada semana temas muy interesantes de reflexión.

Por otra parte, quienes moderan las comunidades te ofrecen con frecuencia concursos e iniciativas para motivarte y que puedas mantenerte activo en la plataforma. Felicito a la comunidad @freewritershouse que cada semana ofrece más de una iniciativa para quienes estamos enfocados en la escritura literaria.

## Los encuentros fuera de la plataforma

Desde que entré en Hive en marzo de 2022, hasta mediados del 2023, no había tenido la posibilidad de participar en eventos fuera de la plataforma, en los que esos textos leídos o esas fotos que había visto tuvieran un rostro, un tono de voz, en el mundo fuera de la plataforma. Fue realmente emocionante este año poder ver, escuchar, abrazar a algunos de los hivers que viven en mi ciudad, Caracas, o en ciudades cercanas como Maracay o Valencia. Quiero contarles brevemente sobre estos eventos y las personas que tuve el gusto de conocer.

El primer encuentro con hivers venezolanos fue un evento que ayudé a coordinar con los amigos de @rutablockchain @danielvehe y @enmymente en mayo de 2023, en la librería Kalathos, ubicada en el Centro Cultural de Arte Los Galpones, uno de los espacios culturales más gratos de Caracas. Previamente me había reunido con Enmy para planificar el evento en el Centro Comercial Sambil. Ellos conversaron con el público presente sobre Hive, sobre nuestra plataforma. Yo solamente hice el contacto con el gerente de la librería, José Gutiérrez, a quien conozco desde hace varios años, ya que he participado en diversos eventos literarios allí y los presenté al público presente.

A través de Enmy y Daniel llegué a Hive, me dieron información, me apoyaron para hacer mi presentación y entrar a la plataforma. Luego volvimos a vernos en otros dos eventos que se llevaron a cabo en Caracas este año. Pero es difícil describir la emoción que sentí en ese primer encuentro con ellos. Admiro mucho la labor que están llevando a cabo en diversos espacios públicos, especialmente en las escuelas venezolanas.

Este ha sido un año muy activo para los hivers venezolanos. Aprovecho para felicitar a la comunidad de hivers de mi país, porque esos buenos eventos fuera de la plataforma, bien planificados, organizados con tanto esfuerzo y cariño ayudan a crecer y enriquecer nuestra plataforma. El segundo evento de hivers al que pude asistir se llevó a cabo también en el Centro de Arte Los Galpones de Caracas, el 13 de agosto de 2023, en un amplio espacio de ese centro cultural. Allí pude conocer a algunas amigas de la comunidad @holos-lotus a quienes sólo había leído hasta el momento @tibaire @miriannalis @aguamiel @astrea @dayadam y volví a ver a @danielvehe y @enmymente

Fue un evento extraordinario, con una gran asistencia. En el que quienes asistimos pudimos disfrutar de una programación excelente de charlas, meditaciones, baile, música en vivo. Una variedad de actividades para el bienestar del cuerpo, la mente y el alma. Un día muy gratificante, que me confirmó a Hive como una plataforma para crear valores positivos, una plataforma de crecimiento personal a la que me siento orgullosa de pertenecer.

Los amigos y las amigas de @holos-lotus en especial, quienes organizaron el evento, han conformado una de las comunidades en las que los valores positivos de Hive realmente se muestran. Gracias. Aunque la Caracas Blockchain no es propiamente un evento organizado por hivers, la comunidad de hivers venezolanos tuvo allí protagonismo. Fue realmente emocionante ver sobre tarima a los hivers @danielvehe y @filoriologo y poder compartir fuera de tarima con el mayor número de hivers venezolanos que he conocido hasta ahora @miriannalis @yenmendt @crish23 @Ylich @gislandpoetic @frankches @getheenspring Pude darme cuenta el gran interés que tienen los venezolanos que hacen vida en la plataforma de informarse, de crecer y de encontrarse. ## Mi año dentro de la plataforma

Cuando empiezas a escribir en Hive al principio cuesta entender la dinámica de votos y recompensas. A veces la cantidad de votos recibidos no coincide con una cantidad alta de recompensas, es decir, un post puede ser valorado por una cantidad alta de personas, pero si tienen poco poder de voto, o te dan un porcentaje bajo al valorar tu texto, la cantidad de recompensas obtenidas puede ser baja. De igual manera, un post puede tener pocos votos, pocos me gusta, pero si recibes el voto de una ballena puedes obtener una buena recompensa. En algunos momentos ambas cosas coinciden, un post con más de cien votos, tiene también una buena recompensa.

Por otra parte, es importante compartir contenido de valor y hacerlo en una comunidad en la que ese contenido pueda ser apreciado. Voy a compartirles una lista de mis post más votados y otra de mis post con mayores recompensas. Este año he tenido gratas sorpresas en Hive. Una de las que me dio mayor satisfacción fue encontrar que mi post más votado fue un texto narrativo, mi relato “La Doña” escrito para un concurso de @hispaliterario Durante alrededor de treinta años he escrito poesía, he publicado algunos libros de poemas, he participa en eventos poéticos, pero la narrativa es un género nuevo para mí, el cual ¡empecé a escribir para Hive! Animada por los concursos de la plataforma.

Así también, mi post con más recompensa, que escribí ṕara la comunidad @holos-lotus estuvo dedicado a la planificación de la agenda y la importancia de agendar el cuidado de uno mismo. Paradójicamente, en uno de mis post de diciembre para la misma comunidad, escribí un post sobre un percance de salud que tuve por haber descuidado en mi agenda el cuidado personal.

Otra sorpresa fue encontrar entre mis post con mayor recompensa, el que dediqué al nacimiento de Simón Bolívar, el gran héroe nacional venezolano. Siempre me ha gustado la historia y en mi post quise resaltar la importancia de Bolívar como estadista, y no solamente como héroe militar. Pero, honestamente, no pensé que sería un post valorado en Hive. Otra grata sorpresa fue encontrar entre mis post con más recompensas el que dediqué a las “Cartas a un joven poeta” de Rainer María Rilke, la poesía, por lo general, no es un tema por el que obtienes buenas recompensas en la plataforma.

Me contenta mucho compartirles mis mejores logros en la plataforma durante 2023. Pero este post estaría incompleto si no les compartiera la otra cara de la moneda. A veces le ponemos cariño a algunas publicaciones, pero infelizmente no son valoradas en la plataforma, obtienen muy pocos votos o recompensas. Esa es parte también de las experiencias que podemos experimentar al postear nuestros contenidos en hive. Les compartiré dos ejemplos.

### El concurso “Amores aterradores”

Yo había propuesto el tema para el concurso del programa Días Ecencyales, a pesar de que el género de terror no es uno de mis géneros favoritos y no se me da bien. Quise participar porque me lo planteé como un reto. Pero pensé que hay diversos tipos de amores que pueden ser aterradores, en esos días estaba de furor el tema de la película Barbie y su mundo rosa e imaginé una historia de un amor aterrador en ese contexto, una fanático enamorado que termina secuestrando a una barbie de carne y hueso. Mi relato fue un estruendoso fracaso, a pesar de que pensé que había construido una buena historia, hice un diseño especial para el post, completamente rosa, configuré una parodia del mundo barbie que fuese aterrador, pero sólo obtuve muy pocos votos y pocas recompensas. ### El taller de cuento

Tengo tres décadas desempeñándome como docente en el área del lenguaje y la literatura y quise compartir con mis lectores en Hive mis conocimientos sobre escritura narrativa. En este caso no fue un post, fue una serie de post a los que les dediqué mucho tiempo y esfuerzo, planifiqué varios post sobre los aspectos más importantes de la escritura narrativa, los personajes, la configuración del contexto, la voz narrativa, entre otros; para cada post grabé un video, escribí un texto. Hice post en distintas comunidades, pensando que la falta de lectores y recompensas tenía que ver con haber posteado en una comunidad equivocada. Pero no obtuve en los diversos post de la serie ni votos ni recompensas en la mayoría de los casos. Fue muy decepcionante querer aportar una información de valor, hacer mi mejor esfuerzo y no encontrar una respuesta entre los lectores de Hive. Sentí una frustración enorme.

## Challenge My Year with HIVE

My dear Hivers, to recount "My year with Hive" is to recount enriching and rewarding moments. Since I started to be active on our platform in March 2022, there are many things I have learned as a content creator, but also as a reader of other hIvers' content, and also through the curatorships and other conversations in the discord, such as the program "Ecencyal Days" or "Talent Night" and I still have a lot to learn.

Hive offers us in a single platform what we find separately in Web2 social networks: blog, video, images, chat conversation, microblogging. A wide universe of advantages that I am still discovering. ## communities

Something very important that our platform offers us is that in Hive you are never alone. When we write in our blog we always do it in a community and in a community that is made up of like-minded people, that is, people who have the same interests as you. Therefore, you can enrich yourself with what you read and enrich others who read you, who have the same interests or talents.

In my case, as a writer and literature teacher and lover of the arts in general, my contribution has focused mainly on writing literary texts or about art. Although I also have an active life in communities such as Holos & Lotus, as my physical, mental and emotional health has become a priority in recent years. Or in Weekend experiences, because its moderator @galenkp proposes very interesting topics for reflection every week.

On the other hand, those who moderate the communities frequently offer you contests and initiatives to motivate you to stay active on the platform. I congratulate the @freewritershouse community that every week offers more than one initiative for those of us who are focused on literary writing.

## Meetings outside the platform

Since I joined Hive in March 2022, until mid 2023, I had not had the chance to participate in events outside the platform, in which those texts read or those photos I had seen had a face, a tone of voice, in the world outside the platform. It was really exciting this year to be able to see, hear, embrace some of the hivers who live in my city, Caracas, or in nearby cities like Maracay or Valencia. I want to tell you briefly about these events and the people I had the pleasure to meet.

The first meeting with Venezuelan hivers was an event I helped coordinate with @rutablockchain friends @danielvehe and @enmymente in May 2023, at the Kalathos bookstore, located in the Centro Cultural de Arte Los Galpones, one of the most pleasant cultural spaces in Caracas. I had previously met with Enmy to plan the event at the Sambil Mall. They talked with the audience about Hive, about our platform. I only made contact with the manager of the bookstore, José Gutiérrez, whom I have known for several years, since I have participated in several literary events there, and I introduced them to the public present.

Through Enmy and Daniel I came to Hive, they gave me information, supported me to make my presentation and enter the platform. Then we met again in two other events that took place at Caracas this year. But it is difficult to describe the emotion I felt in that first meeting with them. I really admire the work they are doing in various public spaces, especially in Venezuelan schools.

This has been a very active year for Venezuelan hivers. The second hivers event I was able to attend was also held at the Centro de Arte Los Galpones in Caracas, on August 13, 2023, in a large space of that cultural center. There I was able to meet some friends of the @holos-lotus community whom I had only read so far @tibaire @miriannalis @aguamiel @astrea @dayadam and I met again @danielvehe and @enmymente.

It was an extraordinary event, with a great attendance. Those of us who attended were able to enjoy an excellent program of talks, meditations, dance, live music. A variety of activities for the well-being of body, mind and soul. A very rewarding day, which confirmed Hive as a platform to create positive values, a platform for personal growth to which I am proud to belong.

The friends of @holos-lotus in particular, who organized the event, have shaped one of the communities where the positive values of Hive really show through. Thank you. Although the Caracas Blockchain is not strictly speaking an event organized by hivers, the Venezuelan hivers community had a leading role there. It was really exciting to see on stage the hivers @danielvehe and @filoriologo and to share off stage with the largest number of Venezuelan hivers I have met so far @miriannalis @yenmendt @crish23 @Ylich @gislandpoetic @frankches @getheenspring I could realize the great interest that Venezuelans who make life on the platform have to be informed, to grow and to meet. ## My year on the platform

When you start writing in Hive at first it is difficult to understand the dynamics of votes and rewards. Sometimes the amount of votes received does not coincide with a high amount of rewards, that is, a post can be valued by a high amount of people, but if they have little voting power, or give you a low percentage to value your text, the amount of rewards obtained can be low. In the same way, a post can have few votes, few likes, but if you receive a vote from a whale you can get a good reward. In some moments both things coincide, a post with more than a hundred votes, has also a good reward.

On the other hand, it is important to share valuable content and to do it in a community where that content can be appreciated. I am going to share with you a list of my most voted posts and another one of my most rewarded posts. This year I have had some pleasant surprises in Hive. One that gave me the greatest satisfaction was to find that my most voted post was a narrative text, my story "La Doña" written for a @hispaliterario contest. For about thirty years I have written poetry, I have published some books of poems, I have participated in poetry events, but narrative is a new genre for me, which I started writing for Hive! Encouraged by the platform's contests.

So too, my most rewarding post, which I wrote ṕara the @holos-lotus community was dedicated to agenda planning and the importance of scheduling self-care. Paradoxically, in one of my December post for the same community, I wrote a post about a health mishap I had because of neglecting self-care in my schedule.

Another surprise was to find among my most rewarding posts, the one I dedicated to the birth of Simon Bolivar, the great Venezuelan national hero. I have always liked history and in my post I wanted to highlight the importance of Bolivar as a statesman, and not only as a military hero. But, honestly, I did not think it would be a valued post on Hive. Another pleasant surprise was to find among my most rewarded posts the one I dedicated to Rainer Maria Rilke's "Letters to a young poet", poetry is usually not a topic for which you get good rewards on the platform.

I am very happy to share with you my best achievements on the platform during 2023. But this post would be incomplete if I didn't share with you the other side of the coin. Sometimes we put love to some publications, but unfortunately they are not valued on the platform, they get very few votes or rewards. ### The "Terrifying Loves" contest

I had proposed the theme for the Ecency Days contest, even though the horror genre is not one of my favorite genres and I'm not good at it. I wanted to participate because I thought of it as a challenge. But I thought that there are different types of love that can be terrifying, in those days the theme of the movie Barbie and her pink world was all the rage and I imagined a story of a terrifying love in that context, a fanatic in love who ends up kidnapping a flesh and blood bimbo. My story was a resounding failure, even though I thought I had built a good story, I made a special design for the post, completely pink, I set up a parody of the barbie world that was terrifying, but I only got very few votes and few rewards. ### The story workshop

I have three decades as a teacher in the area of language and literature and I wanted to share with my readers in Hive my knowledge about narrative writing. In this case it was not a post, it was a series of posts to which I dedicated a lot of time and effort, I planned several posts about the most important aspects of narrative writing, characters, context setting, narrative voice, among others; for each post I recorded a video, wrote a text. I posted in different communities, thinking that the lack of readers and rewards had to do with having posted in the wrong community. But I got neither votes nor rewards in the various posts of the series in most cases. It was very disappointing to want to contribute valuable information, to do my best and not find a response among Hive readers. I felt a huge frustration.
