Day # 6: What Piece of Art Are You Most Grateful For?
On one of my previous posts, I mentioned that there was a time when my one goal in life was to be happy. That was so true. I was going through a rough time in my life then. Many years down the line, I still remember that goal. The difference is I now live it daily.
There was this artwork that I got from a former workplace. (I used to work in a hotel.) The art department on occasions would come up with designs for various holidays and events that were happening in the hotel. This was for the Easter holidays so they had these huge letters that spelled that out. I learned that they just discard these materials after use. I then asked permission if I could have some of the letters. Here's what I got.
The letter 'y' is a bit different, as the original one got broken a long time back. My daughter helped me create a new one, and some of my former tutees painted and designed it. Anyway, the letters have been on my wall for a long time now. It sure helped a lot that I see it every day. It was -- and still is -- a reminder of my past goal -- to be happy.
For this work of art, I'm truly thankful.
