One of the hallmarks of impressionism is the accurate depiction of light and colour in its changing qualities. It is an artistic style that seeks to capture a feeling or an experience rather than a realistic depiction of the scene. I just love this philosophy.
When working with analog materials, I love to work quickly, so impressionism suits my style. I do not have the patience for detailed works, and I really admire those who claim ten, twenty, sometimes even more than a hundred hours in their works. Impressionism is just that—seeking to capture a feeling, a first impression, to evoke an emotion in the viewer.
In this piece, I aimed to capture the warmth and serenity of the scene as it appealed to me. How does it make you feel?
