Might want to check out Simple, which has a similar model. They have zero physical locations and are a "real bank" - Monaize seems to just have a different tack, focusing on business aspects of things rather than supplying personal banking.

I would definitely disagree with you about your critique of the team though. Plenty of coins have been developed by random people in garages...say... Bitcoin? Litecoin? Oh and tons of companies such as this newfangled startup called "Apple".

In my opinion, the little guys - the ones who are nervous when there is a webcast - the ones who put their resources into writing code rather than setting up a gorgeous display for you are the ones who are going to revolutionize things.
