Eine heißbegehrte Frucht Südostasiens. Zumeist geächtet in öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln und Gebäuden. Die Preise der Frucht fluktuieren extrem je nach Jahreszeit. Um ehrlich zu sein, den Hype darum habe ich noch nie verstanden. Trotzdem, hin und wieder komm auch ich in den Genuss. Es lässt sich sagen, entweder man mag Durian oder man hasst es.
A much sought-after fruit of Southeast Asia. Mostly banned from public transport and buildings. The prices of the fruit fluctuate extremely depending on the season. To be honest, I've never understood the hype about Durian. Nevertheless, from time to time I also enjoy the fruit. It can be said that either you like Durian or you hate it.
Wie ihr oben sehen könnt: Durian ist eine, ungefähr Handball große Frucht, welche wie ein Kaktus von Stacheln umgeben ist. Auf schmerzlichste Art und Weise musste ich die Tücken des Transportes von Durian lernen. Abhilfe schaffte das Einwickeln in ein Stück Stoff.
As you can see above: Durian is a fruit about the size of a handball, which is surrounded by spines like a cactus. In the most painful way I had to learn the pitfalls of transporting Durian. The solution was to wrap it in a piece of cloth.
Das Öffnen gestaltet sich nicht weniger kompliziert. Die Schale ist recht fest. Wenn es dann geschafft ist, werden die einzelnen Kerne freigelegt, die mit dem Fruchtfleisch überzogen sind. Im Vergleich zur ganzen Dimension der Frucht und der Größe der Kerne bleibt vom Fruchtfleisch nicht viel.
Opening is no less complicated. The shell is quite solid.
When it is done, the individual seeds are exposed which are covered with the fruit flesh. Compared to the whole dimension of the fruit and the size of the seeds, not much remains of the fruit flesh.

Wie zu sehen ist, die Frucht wird extrem vorsichtig behandelt. Wenn nötig, werden einzelne Früchte mit einem Band/Leine als Unterstützung am Baum gehalten. Oder es werden gleich ganze Netze unter den Bäumen installiert, um eine herunterfallende Frucht aufzufangen.
As you can see, the fruit is handled extremely carefully. If necessary, individual fruits are held on the tree with a ribbon/line as support. Or whole nets are installed under the trees to catch a falling fruit.
Geschmacklich ist Durian schwer einzuordnen. Kann zwischen süß und bitter sein. Jedes Stück hat seinen eigenen Geschmack. Ich denke, darin liegt die Faszination der Frucht. Also gut, bis dann!
