| Continuing our "winter vacation" at the Côte d'Azur, we went for a walk to Menton (wiki). Here I want to share photos of the beautiful scenery and the historical town. Menton is a frontier town between France and Italy. After being Italian, it became French after a plebiscite of 1860. It's a fashionable tourist centre with grand mansions and gardens and offers temperate Mediterranean climate and is famous for its citrus industry. | In Fortsetzung unseres "Winterurlaubs" an der Côte d'Azur machten wir einen Spaziergang nach Menton (wiki). Hier möchte ich Fotos von der schönen Landschaft und der historischen Stadt zeigen. Menton ist eine Grenzstadt zwischen Frankreich und Italien. Nachdem sie italienisch war, wurde sie nach einem Plebiszit 1860 französisch. Menton ist ein mondänes Touristenzentrum mit prächtigen Villen und Gärten, bietet ein gemäßigtes Mittelmeerklima und ist berühmt für seine Zitrusfruchtindustrie. | Siguiendo con nuestras "vacaciones de invierno" en la Costa Azul, nos fuimos de paseo a Menton (wiki). Aquí quiero compartir fotos del hermoso paisaje y de la ciudad histórica. Menton es una ciudad fronteriza entre Francia e Italia. Después de ser italiana, pasó a ser francesa tras un plebiscito de 1860. Es un centro turístico de moda, con grandes mansiones y jardines, que ofrece un clima mediterráneo templado y es famoso por su industria de cítricos. |

Cemetery of The Old Castle (wiki), where many foreigners (especially aristocrats from Great Britain, Russia, Germany) found their final resting place around the year 1900 as they stayed in Menton for the winter / Friedhof des Alten Schlosses (wiki), auf dem um 1900 viele Ausländer (vor allem Aristokraten aus Großbritannien, Russland und Deutschland) ihre letzte Ruhestätte fanden, als sie in Menton überwinterten / Cementerio del Viejo Castillo (wiki), donde muchos extranjeros (especialmente aristócratas de Gran Bretaña, Rusia, Alemania) encontraron su lugar de descanso final alrededor del año 1900 cuando se quedaron en Menton para el invierno
