Here I am sharing another one of my leftover holiday experiments. Making juice blends or smoothies is a good way to consume all the fruits you may have on hand to prevent spoilage.
Ingredients
On the above photo are the ingredients that I used. Our kiwi fruits were getting ripe, so it was time to use them all for the yogurt smoothie.
The grapes used were the seedless variety, so I didn't need to remove the seeds.
Calamansi, or our local lime, turned out to be a bit sour for this mix, Perhaps I also used a bit too much of it.
Preparation
I sliced the kiwi fruits side ways so I could easily spoon them out into the blender.
With all the kiwi fruits in the blender, I added a small cup of water before mixing.
Then, it was time to add the seedless grapes and a few leaves of mint. I like a bit of minty taste, so I do add mint. It does not affect the overall taste of the smoothie.
Here's the part that I will revise the next time I work on this smoothie again. I will either use oranges ( sweeter) or use less of the calamansi.
The calamansi juice is ready to be added. In the past, I tried planting these calamansi seeds. I have not been successful in growing them in our container garden.
There is the mix, and we are ready to add the strawberry yogurt. I used two of these for better flavor.
That's the last step. Once the yogurt is blended into the mix, your drink is ready to be served.
We improved the taste for this round by adding honey. Total servings made was 6 on my special glasses. I hope you'll find my recipe tasty and come up with your own variation.
