This discourages you because you really want to know how to meditate properly. Meditation is useless if done with wrong techniques.
I have tried a lot of things to overcome my overthinking and nothing beats Meditation. First, I struggled because I thought I couldn't do meditation because...well...I'm an overthinker.
So, here's how you do it:
00:41: 1. be in a good mood (be in a good mental state)
00:48: 2. Find a quiet place
01:08: 3. Find YOUR position
(*I said in the video that you shouldn't lean on anything, but at the beginning, you may do it. However, remember that at the end you should work towards not leaning on anything)
01:32: 4. Focus on your breath
02:01: 5. Become aware of your thoughts
02:19: 6. Focus on your breath again
Meditation allowed me to discover myself and know myself better. I got aware of my emotions and what they did to me. It gave me an "aha" moment when I grasped the concept of IMPERMANENCE.
