Earth Deeds Vol. 22 Entry 2
I finished the mulch layer and added Humic Acid
...But, if a mystic is one who is sensibly or even sensually aware of his inseparability as an individual from the total existing universe, he is simply a person who has become sensible – aware through his senses of the way ecologists see the world. So when I’m in academic circles, I don’t talk about mystical experience. I talk about ecological awareness. Same thing.”

This week I finished removing the parasitic mistletoe and was comfortable enough with the mulch I added to this Mesquite tree to start treating it with humic acid and some lactic acid bacteria I just madeclick to see my recent batch on Instagram. Really, this was just too kickstart the beneficial fungus and microbes here as I will be utilizing the area to gather Indigenous MicroOrganisms and in the near future, leaf mulch for a Fish ferment called Fish Amino Acids.
I visited the area twice since I posted my first Earth Deeds entry earlier in the week. I forgot trash bags the first time around but not the most recent time out. There is so much trash out here. I can't wait until it's cooler out so I can spend more time out here.
When I came out here yesterday, I brought my battery powered backpack sprayer and I used humic acid with lactic acid bacteria in order to foliar spray the mesquite tree and mulch. I feel pretty good about this immediate area and tree. I will move on to the next mesquite tree and start clearing out more mistletoe and clearing out all this trash. Beer cans and plastic bottles dominate the area but still yet there are beds and old tires out here.
This will be a very fun project as there are hundreds of mesquite trees littering the area and I suspect there is a massive water reservoir under these trees.
