Everyday we strive for improvement, more money, more followers, a better looking body, a sharper mind, more enlightenment and quality relationships with people that matter to us.
The desire to move forward is a part of human nature. I can still remember the words of my psychology professor When we think we are not moving forward, we start to feel we are going backwards and that is a recepie for misery.
In order for us to continue improving we have to learn. Only by learning more and more we are able to try new things and break the previous ceilings holding us back.
Like all the other living creatures on planet earth, we learn the fastest from modeling behaviour.
A baby learns to walk by first observing the people around him walking and then he tries to do it himself ,failing and adjusting hunderds of times, constantly encouraged by his parents, until finally one day he starts to walk.
Without people walking around the baby he might never learn to walk.
Everything we do is modeled from a behaviour we observed and decided to adopt to ourselves.
Moreover, almost everything we do requires someone that will guide us how to do it.
The problem starts when you want learn how to do something and you need to choose a guide. Someone to model your behaviour after.
When it comes down to the basics like speaking, writing and most of the physical things the criteria is pretty obvious - Results.
You just look if the potential guide is able to perform the action you desire to learn and start following his lead.
But what do you do when what you need to learn isn't as obvious as walking?
We can all agree that success on Steemit is one of the more complex things you can learn.
Do you invest in creating an organic following?
Or maybe you just use voting bots?
Is joining a group that votes for each other any good?
Perhaps you just want to invest in steem and sell your vote?
I think it's all really confusing.
I started on Steemit a couple of months ago without any investment , it was the first time I ever wrote something serious on a social media platform and my vision to help as many people as I can with the knowledge and tools I acquired while getting paid for simply sharing.
I expected fireworks and an amazing following to gather behind me, alas all I got was the sound crickets while I waited for a single upvote.
A couple of posts later, I decided I have to learn how it's done.
That Is where the problem started.
The most popular subject that people write about on Steemit is how to succeed on Steemit.I think a lifetime isn't enough to read it all. Don't even get me started on paid consultations and video courses.
I wanted to find someone who had results and a vision. A vision to create something big not for a couple of dollars or another upvote, but for something meaningful. That for me was the defenitiin of real success on Steemit - a desire to create a lasting change.
A long and sad month has passed, one day I stumbled upon . This cat with a couple of other whales started a project called Steemit school. Not only to teach people how to succeed on Steemit but his vision is to create an international business school.
It blew my mind away, I immediately joined the Steemit School Community on Discord and started learning in the live classes, the rest is history. My blog is growing, more followers, more upvotes and there is finally movement in my wallet.
For me a good teacher is not only the one who has results but also has a vision and an honest desire to see his pupils succeed.
Now, I would like to share with you a couple of tips for finding the right teacher in any field -
look for enthusiasm
Passion is an incredible driving force and a teacher with a passion to see his pupils learn and do well is far better than a teacher with high credentials and a lack of enthusiasm.
Long Term Vision
Figure out why does this person want to share his knowledge, if there is no big and exciting goal you can relate to just look for someone else. A visionary will push you to excellence and that is what we all need to be good at something consistently.
Ability
This one is pretty obvious, you do expect your teacher to be able to do what he teaches.
Aptitude for Teaching
The teacher of your choice should have at least basic teaching skills- like clear language and the ability to explain.
I found all these skills in and the guys at Steemit School.
Choose your teachers wisley and for god sake, be an honest student that wants to learn and succeed.
That way the results will come, quickly.
What do you think it takes to become a good teacher?
I encourage you to join the Steemit School Community to learn how to succeed on Steemit, and if you are already a successful Steemian come and share your experience with us, I promise you wont be sorry.
Thank you for your time.
With love.
