Been in Canada now for 25 years and still so miss all the yummy goodies, while they have wonderful desserts here, i do still yearn for English desserts like Sticky Toffee pudding, Spotted Dick and Custard, Jam filled Doughnuts, Bakewell tart, Iced buns, the list goes on.
So awhile ago I decided to attempt to make my own, and while it seems this would be very easy they just never seem to be up to par with what I remember. So I kept trying and finally I have now mastered Jam Filled Doughnuts (English style) and yes, coated in sugar, my kids and there friends always ask for theses when visiting....so wahoo me....I got one down pat.
Turned out pretty darn good.
Coated in lots of sugar of course!!!!
Now for the Sticky Toffee pudding.....I HAVE SUCCEEDED.....and this is definetely one for the books served with ice cream, made the day before I serve for dessert.....hardest thing is keeping it hidden from hubby....lol.
Just made today, so soaking up the sauce, will be so yummy tomorrow served with ice cream and in the company of great friends.
