What better thing to watch when you are hungry than a video about food? This is what happened to me on August 27, the day before my new month of wifi came on.
By an amazing stroke of luck I had three gigs of wifi left about 6 hours before midnight. I use about 2 gigs per day. I decided to check out you tube for a bit.
I ended up somehow on a 20 something girl who lives in her van and has almost no food budget. She dumpster dives at various places she knows of that throw away perfectly good food nightly.
She has a route in her area and finds the food bagged up nicely by staff who feel bad to throw it away. This is in the Pacific Northwest somewhere. This girl is thin, happy looking, and healthy and rock climbs for fun.
When you first see her she is 100% in the dumpster and says it does not smell. She shows some various sandwiches and salads and says she will not be able to eat it all in time, and so will give some away to homeless people she will see.
In the comments of the video, people were chiming in to say, “Yes this is true. I package food for the trash where I work too.”
If the employees eat the food themselves it is theft. So they try to make it as sanitary as possible for the people who stop by.
If you look on Canva for “dumpster” you have to pay for the photo or illustration. If you search for “trash” many photos like the one I have in my poster are free. It pays to be creative.
I hope you are pushing through to still succeed on STEEM After the fork. Quitters never win and we can make it together.
If you believein STEEM do not give up.
