Uli or Ulen, is a snack that has been made in the archipelago for decades, each region will have a different name even though the basic ingredients are the same.
The snack in West Java is well know, from the an estors to the present, if in Sundanese snack it is called Ulen ketan wich people usualky call it.
Ulen Ketan are usually served an holidas such as, Eid, and it there is a celebrations, or now many are faund in stalls that sale traditional snack.
Snack are usually eaten in the morning or evening, with hot coffee or hot tea, while chatting with family. How to make it quite easy, the main ingredients are glatinous rice, then coconut, coconut milk the soaked for a bout thirty minutes if the rice is good.
The rice is then steamed, while waiting, prepare enough sredded coconut and coconut milk, sleaned rice when it looks shiny, then removed and mixed with coconut and coconut milk.
Glutinous rice, coconut, coconut milk, stirred and pressed to mix and be come smoth, then the second time it was steamed a gain in a bout thirty minute.
Then removed in place, then in the form, can be wrapped in leaves or other places, the last stage is frief in hot oil, share a little story, thank you.
