After rainchecking Mo () twice in a month and missing out on meet-ups with
,
,
and
, I just had no more excuses 😜 (no, I was actually busy the other times). So, I had to arrange to see Mo. This would be my 4th meet-up with her ever since we both started blogging/vlogging on Steemit in January. We met up the first time in March, just as she was starting to become a DTube regular and we bounced back/shared ideas about what we learnt on Steem as well as starting a Discord server for "Wanderlusters in Thailand" (however, it's not that active). Yet, it has been awhile since our last hangout in June when she just received her new camera (Canon M-50) and we were both trying to figure out how it works LOL.
In accordance to almost all our meet-ups, there was someone new to meet from the Steem universe... another Steem alien, but a friendly one that comes to spread love, peace and a lot of crypto knowledge (not like the ones from "Aliens" or "Mars Attack"). The Steem universe knows him better as . He came out to Asia for the first time and he could not have a better host than Mo showing him around Bangkok for the past week. Naturally, he fell in love... with Bangkok, Thailand and maybe Mo (but let's not spread gossip) 😜
However, the real reason he came over was to participate in the BDMS not BDSM, I know what you were thinking 🧐. It's the Bangkok Dusit Medical Service (BDMS) half marathon in Bangkok. had to get up/stay awake until 02:00AM to start putting on his leather mouth gag... Oops, I mean start the race. This is due to the fact it's too hot to conduct a race in the day time with the heat and humidity. He managed to finish the race in 1h30min and come in 31st place! Impressive and well done!
I met Mo and 12 hours after the race for a late lunch at KOKO, a Thai & Vegetarian restaurant.
and I were clearly on the same wave length and had the vegan Pad Thai (seen below) and Mo had a Stir-fried SQUID (that's pronounced S-qui-d) dish. We discussed how we found Steem/Steemit, thoughts on different crypto currencies (Steem, EOS, Bitcoin, Whaleshare and the future of crypto). It was refreshing to hear the thoughts from a crypto enthusiastic person, who clearly knows how to navigate all the 'mumbo jumbo' out there! If anyone hasn't met
, please do as he is "a gentleman and a scholar" as they say. A really nice guy, intelligent and good looking (if Tinder did references LOL). But, seriously, any meet-up with any Steemian is always rewarding and like every meet-up post I do, I would encourage meet-ups or hangouts with other Steemians!
Vegan Pad Thai
The rest of the late afternoon/evening was spent roaming around Central World as they had a international fair on the ground floor (check out 's vlog).
We said our goodbyes near the Erawan Shrine, a shrine to the God of Creation that promotes good fortune and prosperity. May that be extended to all on Steemit, to Steem and the rest of the world!
Enjoy your time up in Chiang Mai and it was a pleasure to meet you.
With just over a month left in Bangkok, I would take up on your offer for another meet-up before I leave. I'll arrange something 😊 and we shall see who is around!
