I typically call the end of summer when school returns as it marks the start of more traffic and the routines of homework and less time doing extra activities with the family. Leading up to the start of school, we went as a family to another small theme park to enjoy the freedoms of summer. No concerns of catching up on reading or homework, just enjoying each other’s presence and of course the rides.
While these parks have become expensive, I think they are experiences that the family enjoys and can create great memories. Seeing how the children grow up and go through the different stages where they can get into bigger and more challenging rides is also an intense ride for us parents. Seeing them gaining independence and confidence is also part of that growing spurt that they all have. I have been blessed to enjoy that journey and these summer help allow it.
Talking about memories, this trip will be difficult to forget as we decided to do one last go-kart ride when the weather turned and started to rain. We continued driving as we thought we would be fine and leave right after. I was so wrong as there was not an inch of dry clothing on our back the whole way home! However, it will definitely be unforgettable!
