Indonesian Veggie Soup aka Sayur Lodeh
It's Friday in this part of the world😊 and I've been absented from this amazing kitchen for few weeks and I'm back😊. I might be not posted anything, but I always around any posts.. to enjoy the fight from the closest bench😉
For someone who enjoys cooking and reading the cook book, I don't really love to eat anything whenever I could😊 I don't even taste any of the foods I cook before I serve it😊. I will eat when I need to eat especially when my body needs it.
When the vegetable seller shows up around 1.pm, and nothing much left on his mobile stall, all I need to do is finding the quick and easy to cook with whatever available😊. So, luffa and carrots, instant veggie powder and coconut's cream will always be the best option😊.
stir-fry baby anchovies with bilimbi
I've been cooking chicken everyday last week, fried, soup, gulai (traditional soup), curry, white curry, hot curry, and so on. It's My FIL's favourite's meat😆. But He said He wants something different today, no more chicken😀.
Unfortunately, the vegetable seller run out of the fishes too😯 just a pack of baby anchovies left (about 50 grams) and I think that's enough for My FIL, alone. I can make some ommelettes for hubby and I later😊.
All I have to do was washing the anchovies with the hot water, stir fry the sliced onion, garlic, cayenne and ginger, then add the anchovies. Cook it for a few minutes, add the sliced bilimbi, let ut cooked for 3 minutes and lunch is ready😊. All were done in 30 minutes😊 and My FIL enjoy his lunch as usual.
I already have this eggplant in chilli sauce before. This will give a balance for the veggie soup😉
I should have known that the vegetable sellers will be passing by too early or too late on friday😅 but I never put any attention on it. Sometimes I bought everything I need on thursday, but sometimes I miscalculated the things I have in the fridge😷. Lucky that I have 2 nice guys in the house😊 They will eat anything I served.
This egg's curry means I didn't have anything in the fridge or the vegetable seller is not around😁
