Round....16??? Already!!!
Time flies, just like the food does every Friday. Speaking of time flyin....
I’M LATE!!
So much for
“The early bird catching the worm” Maybe I will just stick to
“Save the best for last”
or
“Better late than Never”
Rapid Fire Swedish Meatballs placed over a bed of Rice topped with some lightly Steemed....Comin’ in hot!!! You had better flip that table on end and start saying your prayers, because I have got a mountain of these Swedish Meatballs locked and loaded. With years of research and development these Meatballs have been designed and shaped by NASA scientists for maximum speed and destruction
So I found this cool cartoonie filter on my iPhone 7 that can only be accessed by taking a photo while in the Messaging app. Pretty cool Huh?? Well I think it’s cool and I have plenty of ammunition if you think otherwise....Sorry but if your going to be the last one standing in this Food Fight Friday Arena you have got to have that “Take no Prisoners” type of attitude.
Make them Balls
First thing is first...MEAT...get some meat and a lot of it. Even though we at the Splatts house are to fond of pre packaged stuff, we chose to use the Swedish Meatball seasoning packet. It’s a 2 in 1 package. One side of the package is loaded with the seasonings for the meat and the other side has the goods to make the gravy.
After mixing the seasonings into the meat, start to make those aerodynamic Meatballs. Your better off making them too big...trust me :wink:wink: Preferred size is about the size of a Golf ball, remember they will shrink a little. Place a little oil in the bottom of a pan and get ready to start tossing them balls in the hot oil.
Keep these balls rolling around around in the pans. Evenly cooking them on all side. Maybe take one and cut it in half to check and see is they are done. As the Meatballs reach completion, place them in a container and keep them warm in the over.
As far as the gravy goes.... just follow the directions on the package. Dahahaha seriously I played no part on the gravy making but I sure did eat it. While you have that mountain on Swedish Meatballs spilling out of the oven. On the cooktop we need to get the steemed rice, gravy and Broccoli completed to make this dish complete. Dish...I should say bowl.
Gravy is all thickened up, the rice is tender, and the broccoli still has a slight crunch. Let’s build a bowl shall we?
- Make a soft bed of Rice in the bottom of your bowl
- Stack some Meatballs on top of the rice
- Ladle gravy over the top, don’t be shy take a couple scoops
- Pile on top of that some broccoli spears and salt and pepper to taste
Behold....The Swedish Meatball Broccoli Bowl
The combination of rice and broccoli, matched up with the meatballs and gravy, made me come back for a second helping....Food Coma!!!
Weku Post Sorry me fellow food flinging fanatics for my late entry. I just hope I don’t get fish-slapped
