I am finally back in the gym after 3 long months. Suffered a pretty nasty knee injury that made me stay home for quite awhile restraining me from any physical activities, but it finally healed up and I am more fired up than ever! It's already been 3 weeks since I am back with training and even managed to get up in the mountains for a week of snowboarding (something I'll post about in the next few days). I can finally relax and start getting back my lost strength and muscle mass pain free!
So here is the starting point.. 70kg (5kg muscle mass down) and feeling quite weak at the moment.
Some new ideas and goals for the new year
My PT training still goes on and I've been on a few workshops that gave me a bit more ideas about what I want to achieve this year with my training. Until now I was focusing mostly on hypertrophy (body building) and while I did look nice.. I wasn't feeling that fit at all. On the workshops I started noticing how things that were so easy for me while I was doing gymnastics and freeruning, aren't as easy anymore and I was struggling with a lot (flexibility, endurance even strength). That's why I decided to ditch the idea of getting bigger just for the sake of it (done that, know how, can do it again or help others do it). Now I want to get fit as I was back in the days with some more strength exercises involved in my training. I want to get my flexibility back, my endurance (man I used to train for hours without tiring), get stronger and get some more cardio in my routines. I'd start getting on that diet again since I've been falling out of it quite heavily.. specially this last holiday (stuffing my face with EVERYTHING!).
How to program and achieve everything written above
Now that I've been studying for awhile and have quite a few qualifications I have a better idea how to structure a periodised training program. That means creating a program which will focus on different areas like endurance, strength etc. in periods of time. Meaning I'd have an endurance period, then a strength period and so on. I will keep this blog up and share my transformation since I am quite curious of what I will achieve in the end and will I be able to get to where I want to. Next post I'll write the specific goals I want to achieve in the period before I move to Thailand.
That's it for now! I am fired up and motivated for the first time in a while so hope I keep it up and that these posts will help me keep that motivation!
Home.. sweet home.. I'm Back!
