While I’ve never tied my success strictly to the number on a scale, I also won’t ignore what weight trends can tell me. Over the past few weeks, the scale has been stable. In isolation, that’s not a bad thing. But paired with the observation that my strength and stamina have also leveled off, it’s a signal that something’s shifted in my routine.
That said, not all signs point to stagnation. My body composition continues to improve—subtle changes in the mirror and how my clothes fit remind me that progress is still unfolding beneath the surface. It’s a reminder that transformation isn't always loud or obvious. It’s sometimes slow, nuanced, and internal.
I’ve been training consistently—six days a week, as I have for some time now—and I don’t feel overtrained. I’m not hitting the wall or dragging myself through workouts. But I am beginning to wonder if my energy levels are telling me something different.
Lately, my body has been whispering that it’s hungry—more than usual. Not out of boredom or stress, but out of need. And while I’ve remained disciplined with my nutrition, I suspect I’ve been in a caloric deficit a little too often. It’s the trade-off of balancing leanness with performance, and it feels like I may have tipped the scale too far.
The good news? I see this as an opportunity. A plateau is not a failure—it’s a checkpoint. And with my upcoming summer travel, I anticipate a natural caloric surplus that may help reset and recharge my system. In the meantime, I’ll make slight adjustments, stay mindful of how my body feels, and continue to treat it like the high-performance machine I know it is.
Because in the end, fitness isn’t just about pushing harder—it’s about listening, adapting, and respecting the process.
