It's time for a monthly check-in with my pole goals as suggested by my deer-dog loving friend ! It's been one month since I sat down and named my goals for the year. I definitely wanted 2018 to be Year of the IRON X!

Here is a refresher on my other goals:
2018 POLE GOALS
-Iron X
-Phoenix
-Janeiro
-A solid Russian split
-4 sets of continuous shoulder mount circus climb (this is a class goal)
-Aerial handspring
-A cool flip (this is vague but I will look into some - I always want to be a ninja!)
-Deadlift handstand
-To NOT keep grinning during a routine due to the happiness and excitement shining through
Ok- so in summary my overall goal is to be a WELL-ROUNDED pole ninja for 2018 - dance-y and ninja-y!
So here are the updates:
-I've checked off the deadlift handstand on the pole! :D - but I'm adding deadlift handstands against the wall.
-I also worked on the Janeiro, but no success. I have though, picked up a variation that involves a split instead.
-I managed to keep a straight face during my showcase performance - but now I want to engage better with the audience.
Here's a photo of my lovely friend Krista at the showcase in the Janeiro! #goals
AND, drumroll please......
I'm proud to show my Iron - X progress in the dtube video above, click the first image! After practicing this trick weekly and slowly lowering down from the handspring, I finally got some hang time!!! I am so happy and SURPRISED!!! It's not quite perfect and I would like to be able to hold it super parallel to the floor, but its a BIG improvement. I used to just drop immediately once I started lowering into the iron X. I think hip placement and body positioning is really essential to this move as well. Hopefully in a few months, it will be more solid and legit. :P
As always, thanks for watching! You guys give me even more motivation to keep up with my goals. :)
