So after the first week of working out and eating to gain healthy lean muscle I have been put in the honeymoon stage if you will. I feel great. I’m not bored, and even though I have limped most of the week I feel more strength and energy than before.
But I must remember this look into my journey is not about my aesthetic experience as much as my inner experience.
So with that being said, I have an update on my “mental” gainzzz.
I have stuck to a digestible routine that includes weight lifting, a daily Abdominal routine, and some cardio sprinkled throughout the week.
I have made sure to pick the appropriate weight to complete each exercise in a slow, controlled complete fashion to maximize my gain. This is a test of ego versus self-control. It does not seem fun doing 30lbs rows until the next day when you are sore in places you haven’t felt before because you did the workout perfectly. So yeah pretty awesome!! Less weight really means more results!! As long as you feel the burn!
And as far as self-control with my Diet. The only thing I have to do is make sure I am eating protein high healthy foods consistently throughout the day. About every 2-3 hours. Not too bad but that’s what I always lacked before. I would just smash a thousand calories of some BS and not eat for 6 hours thinking that was good enough. This way of nourishment has made me feel so much clear-minded and energetic for sure.
So I guess my theme for my first week could be consistency. I am happy that I have come out of the gate so strong but I will keep my goals realistic and practice self-control in the gym and with what I stuff my face with.
Here Is a great message from the late Alan Watts. Wisdom is a constant when it comes to Alan Watts. That’s for sure.
