1.DASIK
Dasik is a biscuit made from dried roasted grains, oriental herbs or pollen with honey. The dough was pressed into a dasik with bird, flower or Chinese characters. Dasik has a unique taste in harmony with the sweetness of honey and other ingredients. The cake is called 'dasik', meaning tea and food, as it is often served with tea.
2.MAEJAKGWA
Maejakgwa is a bread made with flour, ginger juice and thinly sliced iron, cut in the middle and then rolled up. This cake is fried in oil, sugar and sprinkled with cinnamon powder. The name maejakgwa is derived from the shape similar to the sparrow (jak) in the maehwa tree.
3.GYEONGDAN
Gyeongdan is a kind of rice casserole made of sticky rice with hot water, molded into round balls and then boiled and coated with a layer of sweet powder from many different materials. The name of this cake is because it is shaped like a gemstone (gyeongdan).
4.JEUNGPYEON
Jeungpyeon is a rice cakes made from rice dough and rice wine, decorated with jujube, chestnuts, pine nuts and mushrooms, then steamed in the cakes. Jeungpyeon is a kind of cake suitable for summer because it is fermented with alcohol so long it is thiu. It has a very unique, slightly sour taste and is quite soft.
5.SONGPYEON
Songpyeon is a type of rice cakes made from rice flour with warm water and green beans, sesame seeds, chestnuts and other ingredients, molded into a semicircle and steamed. Songpyeon is used for Chuseok (Mid-Autumn Festival or Thanksgiving), the largest holiday in Korea. On the night of Chuseok, the whole family will gather together to make the songpyeon. Everybody tries to make the best of the bakers because they believe that if they make nice buns, they will have a pretty daughter.
6.HOBAKTTEOK
Hobaktteok is a rice cake made with steamed pumpkin. Tteok is a formulated food from rice and a long history in Korea. It is served as a main dish instead of rice, or a special dish for occasions and birthdays. There are many types of tteok with different main materials.
7. BINDAETTEOK
Bindaetteok is a herbal cake made from green peas, meat, vegetables and kimchi. It is often used instead of fried meat during meals. Later, it became delicious food for binja (the poor), so it was called 'binjatteok' (cake of poor people)
