Today I would like to share with you a home-crafted recipe of gnocchis!
There will also be a recipe for a pesto sauce.
I find them delightful and they are really easy to make :D
To start we will need the following ingredients:
1,5 Kg of potatoes
2 eggs
20gr butter
Salt & Pepper
600 gr Flour
some grated cheese parmesan
Pesto sauce ingredients:
20 gr grated cheese parmesan
20 gr grated cheese Sardinian (or any other you like)
20 ml Olive oil
40 gr Walnuts
35 leaves Basil
2 Garlic cloves
some salt
To make the Gnocchi's
The first step is to wash the potatoes, then peel them. Once peeled we need to cook them until they are soft and tender. Once this is done, put them in a bowl and make them mashed potatoes. Then add the butter, eggs, flour some salt and pepper (at your own discretion) and mix it all gently using your (washed) hands.
The secret here is that there is a consistent dough but not to knead to much. Once this is done, let the dough sit for 30 min.
After this time we are ready to finish the gnocchi's. Get some dough and start forming the gnocchi's on a dry table with some dough on it.
Once they are ready put them in a cooking pot with boiling water until they start floating and then they are ready to serve. About 3-5 min. Get them out and serve them.
Note: If the dough is to sticky add some more flour into it.
For the Pesto sauce
This sauce is very easy thats why I choose it. You can also use the tomato sauce i did on my pizza here if you like (https://steemit.com/food/@ale-x/the-best-pizza).
Wash the basil and remove the stem. Peel the garlic.
Put the basil, garlic, salt, pepper, walnuts in a mortar and crush them. Once this is done remove them and put them in a small serving container and add the olive oil and the cheese, mix it up and its ready to be served.
