The Gayo Highlands is an area that is in part of the Bukit Barisan mountain ridge that stretches along the island of Sumatra. In the highlands the quality coffees from the city of Aceh originated. As the name implies, the Gayo Highlands are endowed with topography that is so suitable for growing and developing coffee because the ideal height of arabica coffee is ideally grown above 1000 mdpl and is supported also with the condition of fertile soil.
