As the new school year (for some of us) is approaching, I thought it would be good to get a few ideas about packing healthy lunchboxes to school. I know, I know, some children receive their lunch from the school cafeteria, but there are also those who children who has to pack a lunchbox to school, like mine.
I like to shower them with fruits, grains, vegetables, dairy and protein, but we all know they prefer the way it looks. Us, as parents, doesn't always have the time (or energy) to pack creative lunchboxes and I'm not saying do it everyday. There is nothing wrong with the peanutbutter sandwich that has been packed in a rush, but once in a while, when you have time, make an effort to pack something they would not expect. I can already see their faces when they open those unexpected lunchboxes at school, or even in the afternoon at home.
Okay...
...so unless your artskills are limited to stickfigures, like mine, this is way too pretty and creative for a lunchbox:
Try to have at least 5 different kinds of food in there, depending on what you have available, but if you can make it colorful, it will look attractive enough to be eaten, and if it looks attractive and it's healthy as well, you'll look and feel like 'parent-of-the-year'!
