I love a good braise on a snow day. They're warm and comforting and I'm saving some Steem by buying cheaper cuts. We got hit with a "Bomb Cyclone" blizzard here in NYC. After I heard school was cancelled I braved the grocery store mob scene, got everything I needed, put it together and had it in the oven before bed. Woke up to the night's dinner ready to serve. My oven has a keep warm setting, so there it sat all day and was ready to serve after coming in from sledding.
Please forgive the rudimentary video, but this is my first time doing something like this, and I just wanted to get it out there. I'm gonna work on my technique and post more videos like this. I love cooking, and am excited to share my kitchen exploits with the Steem community.
*Edit: On another interesting note I got my shiitakes from an awesome company called Smallhold. They are building a business of automated subscription supported minifarms. I don't have a farm, just happened to get lucky in a mushroom flash sale they were doing, but the concept is fantastic. Their mushrooms are killer!
