Last night was our second time at a restaurant called La Tequila. Most of the dishes cost more than we'd usually pay for a dinner, so both times we've ordered salads since they're the cheapest things on the menu.
Despite ordering the most affordable dishes, we are still treated like kings and queens by their wait staff, which really adds to the La Tequila experience!
When you walk through the doors of La Tequila, you walk over a glass floor which showcases their underground wine cellar.
As you enter the dining area of the restaurant and look to your right, you'll see their substantial garden where they grow many of the fresh herbs and peppers that you'll find in your dishes.
After you sit down at your table they bring you a complimentary soup. Maddie told them she's allergic to onions, so they took her soup back and replaced it with an onion-free version.
Next, they brought out some complimentary tortilla chips with a bean salsa.
Next, they came to our table to make us some fresh salsa. Also complimentary. They prepared it exactly how we wanted it: not very spicy, without onion, and with garlic. Sooo tasty!
I almost forgot to mention the complimentary cream-filled hot bread.
Finally, here's the only part of our meal that we actually paid for! A couple delectable salads for about 75 pesos each ($4.05). Most menu items are 160-250 pesos. We're on a budget, so we wouldn't be able to come here if we were ordering those more-expensive plates every time.
After our meal, they brought us yet another thing for free. A lemon sorbet with tequila. A perfect end to dinner at La Tequila!
If you're ever in Guadalajara, Mexico, we'd highly recommend a visit to La Tequila.
